Yeah, I know, pretty random thread. Just curious though. We're adding a lot of Phish-themed elements to the wedding and I'm curious to get opinions of brides/grooms who "get it". (Not to say others wouldn't "get it" but you know what I mean)
I'm not a fan at all but I think there's a poster around here named "phishgirl" or something like that.
My fiance is a HUGEEEEEEEEEEE fan.. so I've been to shows with him. :)
One at MSG.. and then I also some of the group members at Rothbury (music festival).. But he goes to a bunch of them.. and he enters all types of raffles and buys 1K worth of tickets and then can't sell any of them LOL

my fiance is a former phish head..he travelled the country to see lots of their shows. he still listens to the music constantly and in the guest bathroom, we have a framed show poster from their biggest shows ever.
i'm not a huge fan of their music, but agreed to let him have one phish song be played at the wedding..he chose 'if i could i would" with allison krauss (i think because he knows i love that song haha). but that's the only phish thing we're putting in the wedding. :)
haha...we're about to go on tour ourselves. we did 26 shows in 2009 (or something like that).
Does your FI go on PT (Phantasy Tour)? That used to be my board, before I got engaged.
LOL no FI doesn't really "get it" (and I totally know what you mean when you say that). He went to one of the MSG shows with me last year but when I was like HEY I'm flying to Palm Springs and going to see three shows in Indio with my friend he was like you've GOT to be kidding me. But whatever, I'll do what I want with my own money thankyouverymuch.
I love PT. They are such douchers on there but so funny.
This year I can't do many shows - I'm doing friday night Camden and both MPP shows and then Wednesday Jones Beach (3 days before my wedding LOL).

So....our initials are C and K (how perfect, right?). For our STDs, we found www.specialeventticketing.com and we're sending out printed concert tickets with all of our info. They are also goign to be our place cards. We're not calling it "place seating table"...we're going to have a sign directing our guests to WILL CALL.
Table names? The Deer Creek Table, The Camden Table (prob put my 'rents here, haha), and of course, The Mothership Table (or just Hampton Table).
We met at the march 6 Hampton reunion show, and he proposed on March 6 this past year!
You guys adding any other phish-elements??
I actually wanted to surprise my fiance and have a Phish or Dead song playing while he walked down the isle.. but what's a nice..wedding-y song?
We had a BLAST at Indio!!! Camped in Hunky Dory ;)
We're doing Hershey this weekend, and then the Hartford/SPAC run, and Great Woods. Wish we could do Camden but its during the week...Camden was so much fun last year....Hoping for a good fall run.

No but I'm kind of insanely jealous of your table names! He's not really into Phish. he's not a hater or anything and he'll probably be going with me to Jones Beach and he has fun at shows and stuff but he's definitely not a 'head. I want to have the DJ play at least one Phish song but it can't be anything too heady. I've been contemplating this one for a while now. One of my BMs is my tour buddy and I think I'll have her brainstorm with me.
I was totally at the Hampton reunion shows. It's so cool you guys met there! Part of me wishes FI was more of a head but at the same time, I get to go have girl time with my tour buddy when we go to shows so that's just as fun.
I would totally stream the show tonight but we're going out to Fire Island for my bachelorette weekend and won't have internet. My friend and I will definitely be using various mobile devices to check the setlist but hoodstream on an iPhone or BBerry is just a fail.
I was previously married to a non-head and honestly it sucked. He didn't get it, complained about the shows (refused to go with). Having a heady hubby is going to be great...

I lucked out for Indio. I'm not much of a camper but one of my college friends' parents have a ridiculous house in Palm Springs so we just stayed there. One of our friends is sober so we had no problem with transportation or anything. It was awesome. We walked around the campsites to meet up with other friends and it looked pretty crazy up in there.
OMG I just thought of this - Party Time could be amazing as a song for the wedding. It's such a fun song and I think non-heads could totally get into it too.

I just e-mailed my band about TMWSIY! I am beyond excited! I also just asked the best man who is a HUGE PHISH HEAD...to send me an MP3..and he asked if I wanted the song or the story..? lol

I'm having trouble deciding on how to decorate our stuck-up formal country club venue. We want to just re-create Hampton since it's so important to us.
We debated a first dance Phish song, my husband is a big Phish fan, and I am getting my Phish education- so far, so good!

we actually put in a request for a quote from Strange Design to see how much to play our wedding. Phix replied with $7000. Havent heard from Strange Design. But neither will happen... :(

out please help phish it ot. we're in a budget-situation, and believe it or not, my FI doesn't agree with all the phish-themed ideas i have because of the formality of the event. idk....i dont give a crap what others think. the 10-15 heads that WILL be there will totally appreciate it, along with us.

Our first dance is going to be to Waste, covered by Dave Matthews...it's shorted and a little faster than the Phish version. And I'd love to stick Strange Design in there somewhere if we can figure it out! :)
hmmm that's a decidely un-phishy venue. i assume tricked out kuroda-style lighting is out due to budget constraints?
Our place cards...they will be inside ticket-sized envelopes at the WILL CALL table. Also going to be our STDs, with all the info filled in and our wedding website. I think they're going to stay things like "cameras/video allowed" and "ceremony at 430, doors at 4" LOL
see i cant post this stuff on the other threads, Bees will think i'm nuts. glad i found brides that can APPRECIATE all the thought thats going into this!!
