I was checking out the Mori Lee website because...well, I just love to look at wedding dresses. Haha. And then, I decided to check out their prom dresses because I also love to look at prom dresses. They're just so fun! And then, I encountered this ( http://www.morilee.com/prom/flaunt/91123 ) "dress." Ummm what? They wouldn't even let me in the door had I tried to wear that to my prom. There are quite a few others from the Mori Lee "Flaunt" prom dress collection with slits up to the hip, and I was like, "Whaaaat?" And it's not even like I went to high school that long ago, I graduated in 2009! And there was certainly none of that at my proms.
What do you guys think about this?
haha oh wow. I graduated in 2001, around that time there were these two-piece dresses that were somewhat popular (entire stomach exposed). I guess the dress you posted isn't that much worse than that. It's a shame, that red dress would be pretty.
holy crap, i wasnt expecting that... or should i say i wasnt expecting so little fabric
o.m.g. I guess if your goal is to lose your v card on prom night, that's the dress to buy! In all seriousness though, if I had a 16 year old daughter, she would not be allowed to wear that dress.
ew ugly hahaha
side note-- I found some white prom dresses online that look just like bridal gowns. I think I might just take that route!
Wow! Nice bathing suit.
No really the top is quite pretty- what a shame that someone decided to leave the bottom so skimpy!
@EleanorRigby: I know right. That dress would be gorgeous if it were a whole dress with opaque fabric!
@sherryberry: That's not a bad idea. I bet they're quite a bit cheaper than actual "bridal" gowns.
My daughter would never be allowed to wear that. Super skanky
Oh guys, I think I found the conservative version. Haha.
@sherryberry: Oh, and would you mind sharing where you found them? I'd love to take a look!
O_o
With the granny-panty-like bottoms, it almost looks like some kind of bizarre chastity belt
Holy &$%#!!!!!!!! That's just NOT right, Prom dress or not, it looks like a Wonder Woman costume!
Trying to remember :)
Here's one site...yes it is awful, but the dresses give you an idea. You have to search through but there were a few on there, such as this one http://www.therosedress.com/shop/products/itemLE.asp?id=5119&vendorid=LE
I actually kind of like the second one.. *blush*
@sherryberry: Haha. The second one is not THAT bad. At least the fabric is not see-through.
Uhh no. If my daughter ever tried something like that it would get burned. I am totally going to be that mom.
Or this one. LOVE. http://www.promdressshop.com/Prom-Dress-Alyce-6705.aspx
So the only one not split to high heaven her boobs are about to fall out!
So the only one not split to high heaven her boobs are about to fall out!
@sherryberry: Wow! That is beautiful! And definitely looks like a wedding dress. I love the beading on the waist.
@chasesgirl: My goodness! Those cups are sittin REAL LOW on that girl!

I suck at posting photos :P
Is it funny that all i can think about is how much of a pain it would to pee in that dress... But really that is a fancy bathingsuit with a built in cover up...
I graduated in 01 and we would have gotten smacked for that lol! I have 3 girls and would never ever let them even buy something so revealing!!
@KatyElle: Haha no joke... that would never fly!
I just had to comment on this because I work at a Prom shop and some of the dresses that we look at from the designers that we stock at our place are similar and we don't get them in unless someone special orders them in. Some people do special order them and the MOTHERS actually pick them out!! I could not believe what some of the mothers are letting there daughter wear to prom. Like you I graduated in 2009 and the styles are so different from then and that wasn't that long ago!! It makes me feel old
looking at prom dresses right now, I'm shocked. Really. I graduated in 2003 and it was all about ballgowns in bright colours. They were strapless, but no midriffs, no questionable cups, no "underwear" sticking out.
I wonder if the underwear dress has a snap out crotch LOL
I graduated high school in 06, and it was the first year those dresses that had the cut outs and the Xs started really coming into fashion. I wore a poofy halter top with flowers on it, and some girls were wearing really slinky outfits that probably belonged on a 25 year old instead of a 17 year old.
That dress looks like something I should wear for an intimate evening with my husband! It looks like lingerie!
Holy Prom dress Batman. Those are ridiculous.
Whoa
I will say the girls in my mom's neighborhood wear some slutty stuff to prom these days.
I mean I wore a tight fitting prom dress but it was classy... thats just asking to be pregnant at 16 lol
@2ndtime: I was actually just thinking... 'oooo... that would be hott to wear in the bedroom.'
Let's hope too many 16 year olds aren't wearing lingerie to their proms! Yikes...
thats just asking to be pregnant at 16 lol
well i wouldnt go that far - just because someone wears provacative clothes (which i never did and wouldnt want my niece to wear btw) doesnt mean they are opening their legs
If you need to get a bikini wax to wear your prom dress, perhaps you should rethink your clothing selection.
