As you know Im tired and frustrated and disheartened about this dress business. Poor Mountain Man has been dealing with this for a year. This weeked he takes me out for a drive in the Endless Mountains of Northeast PA ( no where’s ville basically) and lo and behold we find this cute little salon called Something Blue. He says- “we have to look.”
He pulls this dress for me to try on. This dress is by a company I have never heard of EnVogue? Anyone heard of it?
Get this; it’s a size 18. wtf? Now, I know better than to be a size queen but I have been trying on dresses from 26-20. And even the Panina Tornei I tried on was a 22. ( Im sorry for 8500$ I don’t want to be a 22).
I came out of the dressing room and he got really misty eyed and said; “now that is bridal”
At this shop they have an alternations department that will- add corset back, take off the too long train, put darts in the bust, and add straps (from the train material) for – hold onto your seats- less than 150$.
SO- the variables in the equation are–
a) The dress has a little Vegas bling, but not too much. I could upscale it with jewelry, and a headpiece. Suggestion appreciated.
B) I think its age appropriate
C) The alternations are really inexpensive and the dress would really be “mine”
D) And in the equation how high a percentage do I put on his reaction?
E) Oh and the prices is in budget- with a few less dinners out next month.
