@OttawaBride2011: It's a three bedroom, two bath house with a living room and family room. There's a fireplace in the living room which will be PERFECT for the upcoming holiday season. The kitchen is newly remodeled and has granite countertops and tile floors with a little dining area in there. Most of the floors are hardwood, but the family room and two of the bedrooms have carpet. Ooo, and one of the best parts is that the bathroom counters go up to my and FI's hips. We're both six foot one, so this is a HUGE plus for us! I can't wait to post pictures!
@MissHelen: Wow, that sounds really nice! Especially the high counters, I am 5'11" so I somewhat feel your pain. And, hardwood and granite countertops, I am so jealous!!

First off congratulations!
Secondly, I am seriously drooling with envy over your description of your new home.
My partner is 6'5" and constantly complains about how 'low' the countertops in the house are (they aren't too bad for me, but I'm 5'4").
Hardwood, fireplace granite, gah! These are all the things I hope to find in our next house.
Again, congrats, it sounds like you found a real gem :)
Congrats, I agree, we love our raised countertops. My husband is about 6'3"

We've been in escrow for a bit, but we've done this before and you never know when things are going to go wrong. Well....we got the call yesterday that title papers are being filed, it's going to happen, and we've got our move in date of next Saturday!
It's going to be a very busy month! Now to start reading home design blogs...
