Are you looking for something like the second picture for religious/cultural reasons?  If so, would a bolero be appropriate?  Also, consider that lace and chiffon are kinda see through… not sure if that matters.

If I would make it, I’d use something stretchy as it fits better and is more comfy… or maybe some kind of stretchy lace or soft non see-through tulle? If you want to be covered for religious reasons I think something to wear under the dress is more efficient than just a bolero…

I think chiffon would go better with the dress than lace.  Beautiful dress, by the way!

I don’t know if you want to make/sew it yourself… but I once took a simple turtleneck T, separated the neck from the rest, cut it in half, sew it together like a scarf, sew it back on leaving the longer ends to both sides between the front middle and left shoulder; when I wear it I make a knot with them or a bow (I don’t know if you can follow me, my description might be a bit vague…).
Maybe that rough pattern (but made from a different fabric of course) would look nice and simple under your dress and not destroy the shape of it?
