My first post on the TTC boards! Eeep!
So this is probably just me overthinking (as I tend to do), but I’m wondering: since I went off the pill a few months ago I’ve found that when I do get my period I have a day or two (but i’ve had as many as four) of very light spoting (with period symptoms) before my actual period comes.
So my question is (and hopefully someone has been through similar and can comment): for charting purposes: which day counts as the first day of my period?

You should count the first day of red flow as CD1.

^^^ agreed start cd1 on your first day of proper red flow

First day is full on period, spotting doesn’t count. Not a dumb question 🙂

sara_tiara: I’ve had this as well. My rule (in addition to the “red flow” rule, because that was still kind of confusing to me) was that the first day I needed to use protection (pad, tampon, menstrual cup) was CD1. If the spotting was just when I wiped, I just counted it as spotting.

Thanks ladies! For something so simple this sure can be complicated :p
