Almost everyone I know shops the morning of the shower. Seriously.
Yeah, I think most people will buy gifts in the week before the shower. I didn't have a shower, but that's the way it worked for our wedding registry.
MOST people buy either the weekend before or weekend of your shower. I know I always byu gifts the morning of lol Theres been other posts of people saying this too and everyone says the same thing... dont worry you'll get gifts :)
Within 2 weeks from my shower is when I started seeing things being bought from our registry. For a lot of people they wait until that week to buy a gift.
People do wait until the last minute. I would not worry. I'm sure you will have a lovely shower and get your registry picks.
A lot of the time they forget to take the paper and give it to the cashier to check out or they buy it like an hour or two before your shower.
My shower is the sunday after thanksgiving. I fully expect every single person on the invite list to shop the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, if not the morning of the shower. lol.
Don't worry about this AT ALL. Even the day before my shower only like 5 things had been purchased.
For my first shower (which is the only one I have had so far), I checked the registry the day before the shower and no one had bought anything. Then at the shower, almost everything (and there was ALOT) I received was off the registry. So, from my experience, they really do go the morning of the shower.
I think this scares all of us when the time rolls around. But from what I've heard, most of your gifts will be purchased week-of. I know I always buy presents off the registry within a few days of shower. So don't panic yet. :)
@CorgiTales: Haha! If I were a guess in that situation I can honestly say I'd do the exact same thing. Not to be cheap, but to get things on sale and be able to buy more!
Thanks everyone. I guess I'm just anal, I shop way ahead of time because I hate to procrastinate, but everyone's different.

My shower is in 17 days & no one has purchased anything off my registry yet! Am I awful for feeling like that? Lol, do people usually wait this long to buy things?
