Weddingbee boards

Hi all... :-)

So I went dress shopping for the first time for my July 2010 wedding the past weekend. I had NO intention of buying at dress whatsoever; i thought of it as my "preliminary" hunt - knowing that I had to make a decision SOON though.

Round 1 was a flop. I tried on about 10 dresses, and only ended up with one "possibly" (Alvina Valenta) so we did another round. There was a Priscilla of Boston trunk show going on, which is partly why I wanted to go. I ended up sifting through some of her dresses (many that were just fresh off the runway the previous weekend, this was the 1st trunkshow they were doing post runway) ~ and when I saw this, I just LOVED it. Right when I put it on, I knew that it was definitely a consideration. The only thing was the price tag =/ I originally did not want to spend more than $1500 or so, on the dress, so I had to get over that part. In the end, it came down to the Alvina Dress, and this one.

I felt like when I had this one, it just gave me that special tingly feeling! :-) Plus, it helped that everyone in the store (non sales associates) helped make up mind up for me as well. I just love it!!

If i saw it on the model, I would never have thought to try it on. But I felt like it looked very different on! Since it was a trunk show, they are doing the "hallow to hem" or whatever, complimentary.

I just wanted to share my excitement! I haven't seen this on another bride, but I hope I do in the future. Everything from the ruffles, to the pearl band to the bow are just very "me." :-)

 

 

Thank you everyone! I feel so much better about blowing the dress budget. To be honest, I woke up the next morning feeling pretty crappy about it. :( But then i looked at the pictures again and felt better. so now, I am going to try to cut the budget elsewhere (i.e. flowers!!!) =)

Thank you, thank you ladies! I definitely feel much better that I am not the only one blowing the budget! You are right.. i would have been stressed out about it, so at least I'm saving some white hairs :) I was sort of in a bind as it was trunk show, but I will be glad to say that i DID negotiate for it. It almost felt like a used car dealership, lol. But I am pleased, the hard part will be waiting 4-6 months for it to come in!
