@thumpurr:  In my opinion, I would not scale back on your dress! This is your special day and you want to feel beautfiul! Don’t forget invitations and Save the Dates (vistaprint & wedding paper divas are great options for all budgets). The most reasonable florist in our area for the wedding party, altar, centerpieces and bride & groom was $2,000. If you are okay with doing your own flowers, some of my friends have made their own bouquets/centerpieces using Costco. If you look on their website they should have all of the kinds of flowers they sell in bulk. Also, are you having any kind of music? If you are DJs tend to be a lot cheaper. My fiance and I really wanted a band so we splurged but that cost us $3,500. For the wedding cake could you do cupcakes instead and have a two tier cake for you to cut? Sometimes cupcakes can be less expensive than cake. Another option is to have a dessert bar with different cakes, pies etc. I totally understand not wanting to scale back on the venue & photographer…it will be worth it in the end!  Lastly, for bridesmaids dresses I would recommend looking online at places like J.Crew Wedding, Dillards, Norstrom, Macy’s etc. a lot of times the dresses are much cheaper than if you order it from a Bridal Boutique. I ordered mine from a bridal boutique (and I absolutely love them), but afterwards found dresses online at Macy’s & Nordstrom that were just as lovely and less than $200. Hope this helps and good luck!

I know you said you are not willing to scale back on the photographer. But that seems to be only realistic cut back. Even if you have $500 off your dress & $1000 off photography that would be a big help. Flowers and cake seem reasonably priced as is. You could maybe do cupcakes instead.

@MsSparklyBee:  Agree

A 1/3 of your entire budget is the photographer. You can cut back on the dress and get something gorgeous on a pre-owned site but everything else looks really reasonably priced.

@thumpurr:

How many hours of photography does your $4500 get you?

Cake – I was going to pay $400 for a cake in Jackson Hole for 60 people.  I know you were going to have maybe 12 people.  What are you getting for this price?  Jackson Hole is very pricey in itself!

Flowers – What does $400 get you?

Dress – do you have a dress in mind?  The ladies on the dress board are really good about finding similar styles for cheaper.

Photog seems awfully high. I got a great, experienced photog, second shooter, unlimited day of, engagement session, and TTD session for $2600.

@thumpurr:  I only needed 10 invitations and that was $20 on Zazzle.

@thumpurr:  No problem. They were very good quality and I am glad I didn’t waste money paying for more expensive ones (especially since those usually have a minimum order of 25). The venue and photographer seem really over the top, but I suppose its your dream day so… I am not trying to be nosy but is this budget comfortable for you, financially?

It seems that the venue is only for the ceremony… in which case that is ALOT (to me), especially for an “intimate” sized affair…

Are you open to having the photographer for 6-8 hours or less?  Or does this one only offer all day packages?  I was looking at aphotographer that only had all day, and he was $4200 – but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.  I bought a photographer for 3 hours instead.  H knew I wanted good photography, but $4200 was out of our reach.

I have a feeling your cake will come in less!

I looked at those wooden flowers as well!

@thumpurr:  Its all about what is important to you. I wasnt willing to budge with my photographer either. I have 2 photographers for the day for $4500. With only having 10 guests, youll be able to scale back on the cake (maybe cupcakes. We are doing cookies & cakepops bc we arent cake fans) And if your venue is at a gorgeous location, you could cut back on decor. We are cutting back a bit on florals and using framed pictures for the inside tables and candles everywhere (that I bought in bulk at IKEA). We will only have florals at the ourdoor tables which is where everyone will be hanging out at also.

Also, you have a whole year stil.  Save save save up $$ where you can. Every bit helps. I know we were suprised at how much we were able to save in a years time. We also had a long engagement (and DW).
