I agree with her on most of this, which is why I ended up with a lab sapphire.  lol.

If you feel like symbolic sentiment is worth $15,000 or so…I’m not going to judge you. But you’re crazy and have too much money.

“Unique” Alternative Rings All Seem to be Made for Goths and Wiccans”

LOL, that was funny!

Too funny. I so know the feeling about non trad engagmet rings. I must have losled at thousands and it got to the point where I was convinced it was impossible to find a chic yet truly non trad ring.

This did make me laugh, but I feel like she’s too concerned with what other people expect rather than what makes her happy and what she wants.

Although the following lines had me in hysterics

1 “Experts agree that these diamonds are structurally top notch, but the buying public does not expect a top-notch diamond to look like crystallized urine, and isn’t going to shell out huge amounts of money for glass pee no matter how big or flawless the stone is.”

This is why I typically dislike canary diamonds

2. “moissanite looks like a disco ball”

No offense ladies we all love something different but moissanites honestly do not please my eye. Its a little too shiny for me.

3. ” The only gem other than diamonds that’s popularly seen in classy, formal jewelry is the blue sapphire — and guess what? Those fuckers are almost as expensive at diamonds, some of them more so.”

People are usually shocked when they find out how much gemstones cost. I think it is becoming more acceptable however. The writer just may not realise how many are going this route these days.

4. I guess dragons are sort of traditional though, and I was born in the Year of the Dragon — so I could legitimately wear some kind of dragon ring.

But the more I look at rings with dragons on them … … the more they look like rings worn by people who never have sex.”

This had me howling. Seriously the best line in the article.

Oh thank you! This killed me! I could totally relate to the way she feels. I especially loved

Great article! Thank god I’m a girl and I didn’t ever have to deal with buying an engagement ring.
