This wonderful rescue organization had a pitbull that had lost all but 2 in her litter, the dog was depressed, she saw on facebook about a shitzu litter that were orphaned as their mother sadly got hit by a car, through wonderful pet resues they brought the 6 shitzu puppies from SC to FL and the pitbull mommy immediately took them in and is their mom now and she’s got her litter of the 6 shitzus and her 2 pitbull pups. Just reading the story and looking at the pictures made me melt and be so grateful to resue organizations who help animals!

Aw! I adopted one of my three dogs from a last chance rescue when she was nine months old. I nursed her back to health from being WAY malnurished and had a broken leg. She definitely looks up to me for it and I couldn’t love her more!

This is SUCH a great story!! Dogs are amazing creatures!
We adoped our, now 11 year old, German Shephard from a family whom no longer wanted her. Plain and simple. She was 9 years old at the time, and she is by far the BEST dog I have ever had – even if she was an old retired lady when we got her 🙂

I love all the animal rescues I’m hearing about. Our dog wasn’t from a shelter but our neighbor said they couldn’t care for her and their other dog (she was only like 3 months old at the time and a hell raiser!) so we go our dog that way, I guess we “rescued” her. She’s a spoiled princess and we love her to pieces.
Our cat was adopted from our local SPCA and I love that crazy booger so much, even when he wakes me up at 4am.

Awww these types of articles always make my day!
When I graduated 5th grade my mom took me to the local shelter and I got to pick out a rescue (I had never had a dog so it was a HUGE deal to me). I picked out a ~4-month-old lab that had been found wandering by the highway. She later got a puppy sister when my mom married my stepdad, who had a dog of his own. When the other dog passed away our lab was alone again, so my parents went to the shelter to find her a companion.
They adopted a 9-year-old dog that had been randomly dropped off at the SPCA by his previous owners (he had been there for an entire year! No one wanted an older, big dog). Both him and our lab went on to live to be 15 and both of them were the best dogs you could ever ask for!!

@adoc86 Resue animals are awesome, I feel like our cat is so happy and so good with us because he knows how shitty his previous situation was (left in small apt to die with 17 other cats, no food, no water, shit everywhere) and now he has 1 doggy sister and an entire house to run around and explore and he doesn’t have to worry about running out of food or water ever!

This is Lincoln who we adopted 4 years ago this month from the Humane Society. He just got his first haircut of the summer in this picture I took last week.
