Get to Sam’s Club! you can have a lovely early afternoon brunch with those sandwiches ($15, feeds like 24 if you cut them small) and cake…$35 for a sheet, feeds like 80 I think. buy in bulk what you can, and think inexpensive venues, like Knights of Columbus halls, local caterers (one near me was $12/plate), etc.

I think candles can make a huge impact. Also, Bees have posted about doing either carnation flower centerpieces or baby’s breath centerpieces. If you google images of either of these, they look rather stunning when bunched together, and are much more cost effective than other flowers.

As for colors to avoid, I would suggest avoiding oranges, greens and purples. While orange and black are traditionally Halloween, the latter two when used together with orange bring the images of witches and frankenstein lol.

I think you are safe with red, black and some pinks.
