i got engaged Nov. 2009, booked the venue Mar. 2011, and now the wedding is less than 5 months away! i promise time flies! happy planning :)
Ooooooooo! How exciting! We got engaged Dec 2011 and are planning to get married late 2014. I am so excitied and have already been dragging FI to bridal fairs lol. We went to one last week and the next one is this weekend :P I called the church and a few venues but they aren't taking bookings for 2014 yet........... eager much? haha :)
I'm having a long engagement too! It's really weird, but I was super excited when 2011 became 2012 because if someone were to ask about my wedding date and I said 2014, their brain wouldn't go "That's three years away..." 2012 and 2014 seem way closer together than 2011 and 2014.
@CarolinaCola: They really do seem a lot closer! That's weird how that works lol.
I was going to have a year and 8 month long engagement, but it's going to be easier for us to do it in only a year.
@sherryberry: We had a 22 month engagement as well and now it's down to 5 MONTHS!!!! I am telling you, time really does fly!!!!! Shoot, we did most of of planning, booking venues back when we got engaged (9/11/10) so right now, we are just relaxing, lol.....

Actually, yes. When we first got engaged, I thought, "2014?! that's FOREVER away." But we've already been engaged for 5 months (no idea how that happened) and we're both so busy with life in general that time is flying.
I agree, now that it's 2012, it seems so much closer. Plus, January is almost over, so it's legit 2012 LOL

We had a 2 year engagement. It felt like forever at the beginning, but time sure does fly. We booked everything pretty much within a few months of being engaged and I think that really helped ease the stress levels of the wedding as the main things were done.
It was funny seeing our cake the week before the wedding tho as we had booked it 2 years previously and I had sort of forgotten what it was like! I loved it even more when I saw it :)

The weeks have been FLYING by for me since 2012 since it's out wedding year. It will be here before you know it!
We had a 2 and a half year engagement...we got engaged in 2008 and got married in 2011! It seemed like such a long time to go til we got to our wedding year and then time flew by!
