There was a post about this recently and I couldnt believe me eyes. I mean what bride in their right mind would BURN their dress. I mean I would do a Trash the Dress photoshoot but I wouldnt go so far as to burn my dress maybe jump in a lake or something.

wow i just posted and didnt realize someone posted about this shoot ..

I love it ! Im not the rock and rool type of girl but i do get the feel of the session.. THE VIDEO SESSION .. i would not make sense to just view the photos..

It was a cinamatic shoot so i believe they were in some sort of character.. The old run down house, the gun, the booze.. I dont think it was not ment to be candid or natural at all.. they stagged each pose to give the effect of being still in time while all other things around them keep going.. If you look close as they kiss and are still in time the leaves are moving behind them.. I think its super artistic & cinamatic.. Think of Mr. & Mrs. Smith .. i think that might be where she got her gun scean from.. And being that it was stagged i believe.. I dont think she burned her dress .. maybe it was just tule in the trash.. I would not do it for me but think of all the couples who did 1920's shoots they also took on some sort of character for the shoot.. In my opinion she rocked it ! And had alot of people buzzing about it .. Surprised

    HEY BB,

Its a great and interesting find isnt it!! I do love the motion in the video and it would make a great horror film. The photographer and videographer have def done a great artistic job and Im sure the bride and groom had a great time because it is what they wanted and will say yeah how badass were we. Its not for everyone no doubt. But thats why they were the ones to try it out first to show the world how different things can be...someone has to try it first right!!!

It would be better if the dress actually burning was a fake one... but knowing she's burning a real dress (that maybe her parents bought for her!?) is like, blasphemy! She needs a dress stunt-double!

I didn't care for the video at all. It's the bride's choice to do whatever she wants with her dress and no one's right to judge her for it. When you stop to think about it, she won't ever wear it again and her daughter or daughter in law won't wear it either as they will have their own fashion tastes. That said, the smoking and drinking in the video didn't bother me either. The gun was uncalled for. What I didn't like was how distant and cold they are to each other and in general. There is no minute trace of emotion or love between them at all that any viewer could detect from the video. The only emotion that you can see between them is hostility, and the idea that they were married out of obligation and they can't stand each other. While it may be considered artsy, I also couldn't stand that over half of the video was pitch black screen, which is a waste in the end. To each their own.

I feel like this video needs some context. If it's just a bride doing her TTD shoot, well, it's a little over the top for my taste (the gun?!). But, if it's a character type thing, a commercial shoot, well... it has a little more merit I guess. Nice photography work in the video, though...

I viewed it as totally artistic and set up. I'm sure a double or "fake" dress was used.

That was creepy. I don't think I could ever hold a gun to FI's head, fake or in character or whatever. I can't imagine ever wanting to show that to my kids one day.

It looks more like a music video than something people would actually do.

My FI owns lots of guns (big hunter), so I am steeped in gun safety and would never point a gun at him. Ever. First rule of guns is don't point it at anything you wouldn't shoot.

But, well put together, its interesting.

I would never do it myself, but I think it was pretty bad ass.  I'm looking at it as art and art alone and not looking too deep...ok, the gun freaked me out a little, but I dug the rest of it.

I think it's a bit much personally. I also have to say the gun was entirely uncalled for!! As monitajb said , you NEVER point a gun at anything you don't want dead.

I had seen the picture before but the video made the whole thing very creepy for me - like a horror movie.

wihtout the gun section i might just consider it eccentric or something... but it was just bad. the opposite of my style. are you going to show your kids that one day. "oh look mommy is holding a gun to daddy's head?" like wtf?

    Heh...

I like the trash the dress pictures I've seen (though we didn't do one....yet :-D). But this particular shoot? Not so much :-P. Cold...dark...violent.....yeah, not my idea of romantic memories. But that's just me....

I REALLY liked the video and I am totally not into that kind of thing usually. I thought it was edgy and sexy. I felt like the couple was the super badass, evil twin, parallel universe couple than they were on their wedding day. I also feel this shoot was meant to be more artistic and cinematic versus a sentimental memory perserving shoot you show off to your grandkids when your 80. The gun was a little dramatic but I think that was the point... hell they burned her dress.
