This makes me laugh! I went to one post office where it was going to cost $1.39 each to mail my invites because they are square and had to go parcel. I drove 10 miles to the next PO. They were $1.05. Needless to say, I mailed them from the $1.05 place. I just had 2 more added so I guess I will have to drive 10 miles out of my way to mail them!
Omg, I feel you!! We went and took a COMPLETED invite to the post office to have it weighed. We were told, by TWO clerks, that we were well under the $0.61 cent stamp, but we bought those anyway just to play it safe. We go to mail all our invites and suddenly, "Oh no, this isn't right. It's $0.64" WTF?!?! Oh, I was SO mad. "Well there's nothing we can do about it. We'll send them, but don't be mad when all 76 invites get sent back to you". Lady, I did not pull this out of my ass...YOUR workers told us we were in the clear & now you're giving me this bs?? I know damn well had I just sent them through the drive-up mail boxes there would've been no problem. But nooooo...
Ugh! This just frustrates me all over again, lol. It had nothing to do w/ the 3 cent difference...they were just being a-holes.
Ya, the post office today had no idea what "canceling' even was let alone 'Hand Canceling." Our's were .64 also... and he slipped one through some device thing and verified it was a "normal letter."
Our best man's dad is a letter carrier, I knew i should have let him handle the invites ;-)

So a month ago I mailed out my invites. They said because of the size, I would have to buy the $.64 (or whatever the price was) stamps (the wedding cake ones). I mailed out 100 of them like this.
Today I had to go back because we accidentally forgot to mail out 2 of them (another story) well I went to the post office guy (mind you, I live in a small town so it was the SAME guy working there that sold me the $.64 stamps in the first place) and told him I needed 2 $.64 stamps for the invites. He took them from me, weighed them and said.......
"NOPE - these are $.81 because they won't fit through the slots in the mailbox."
WTF?!?! You said they were fine a month ago......and they did fit through the slot, you were being a d*ck.....
So he slaps on some ugly ass sticker that ruined the look of my invites!!!!! Granted it was only 2, but still!!!
I pointed out to him that 100 invites went out perfectly fine when he sold me the other stamps, and he replied "Impossible"
I know they were fine because I've already received more than half of my RSVPs back!!
