Anyone else having these? I’ve had them the last few nights but it wasn’t till I woke up at 3am having been chased by a man with a bag over his head and a machete did I remember “Oh, it’s because I’m pregnant.”
We’ve finally got a toddler who sleeps most of the night and now I’m waking up every couple of hours in a panic over these violent, vivid dreams. Anyone found anything that helps prevent them?

I have some pretty messed up dreams, too. They are very realistic at times. I actually was awake for most of last night with a dream that I was trying to determine if it really happened or not… Not sure how to get them to stop, but I think they are so vivid and memorable because you don’t get in to as deep of a sleep while pregnant.

@Snowden: I had awful awful awful dreams this time while being pregnant. About decaying bodies, murder, dead things, spiders, I had a dream the baby came out as a fish, then another time it was a moth.
Last night I just had a dream a moth thing bit my hand, then I felt a lump under the wound and could see a tiny moth inside of my skin and I couldn’t get it out.
I have not found anything that helps.

I have had weird dreams but nothing scary like that!
Maybe try reading something pleasant before dozing off? Or writing. It might help just calm your mind before you go to sleep. Otherwise I don’t think there’s really a remedy for this one!

@Snowden: Yes! Mine are so whacked out. The other day I had one where my mom…wait for it…got attacked (sexually) by a whale. lol. I feel embarassed just writing that out!

I remember when I was pregnant with my first, I had this dream that I was bathing my daughter downstairs in the bathtub, and a litter of puppies upstairs in the sink, and I had to keep running up and down the stairs trying to keep everyone’s head above water, but eventually I had to let the puppies drown to save my daughter. So horrible. Preggo dreams are nuts.

@MrsWBS: I’m sorry but this made me laugh a lot! Although I imagine that it was pretty traumatic.
I had them with my first but they were mostly…sexy dreams haha this time round they’re just horrible. I badly needed to pee when I woke up in the night but it took me half an hour to calm down and reason that there probably wasn’t a maniac waiting for me in the bathroom. I did nearly wake Fiance up to go and check though.
@MsJ2theZ: Good idea! I might try and do some writing before bed tonight. I suppose it’s just hormones taking any tiny stress about pregnancy and babies and twisting it.

@jaia07: Holy sh*t thats bananas.
I have whacked out dreams all the time! One was about zombie pirates that kept attacking people on dingy boats! So weird…. Another, I was Olivia Bensen from SVU shooting a perp that just wouldnt die in order to save a toddler girl.
One, I was engaged to Adam Levine, the diamond in my ring fell out and I thought he was going to be mad….he came in and took me by the hand and said “dont worry about it, lets go pick out another” ….it was awesome!

I get the creepy dreams!!!!! Half are cute, pregnancy dreams involving my future baby and the other half are straight out of a nightmare. I can’t stand it!! I wake up so confused and upset!

@Snowden: lol glad i could make you laugh sorry i don’t have any helpful advice on how to make them go away. I debated if I should even tell my husband about it. He’s like what is wrong with you?! I have definitely had some very realistic sex dreams this pregnancy haha. I’ve literally never had one before getting pregnant before either. I won’t mind if those ones don’t stop lol.

I had a dream I was still pregnant but ran over the neighbor’s kid. I woke up traumatized! I am not sure why they happen, but I read they are common.

I’ve been having really bizarre, creep dreams too! Granted we did watch a Dexter marathon yesterday, but they are way creepy. I usually can’t remember them for long after I wake up, which is probably good. I’ve always had vivid dreams, but this is just crazy!

Luckily I havent had any nightmares like you guys have lately… Baby boy has started kicking me a lot recently… I dreamed the other night that as his foot kicked my abs that I could somehow see it and grab it so that he had to stop… it was weird to wake up and realize that i couldnt actually do it 🙁 lol

I have been having weird dreams too! I’m starting to remember them less and less which I’m thankful for since they really aren’t very nice!

I had a horrible one last night that I was bleeding heavily. We were trying to go to Urgent Care but my Father-In-Law said he had an ultrasound machine. In my dream the baby’s heart was beating but it was a low heart rate. Such a horrible NIGHTMARE.
