im due on July 22 also! As of my appointment last Thursday, I was 50% effaced with no dilation. He didnt check today, said he'd check next Thursday again. Peanut's head is very high though, he doesnt know if she'll drop
@KellyV: Weird, due date twins and we're pretty much in the same boat! I have my apt. Tuesday... I'm hoping they check each time to for dilation. I'm measuring a little big so I want her to come sooner then later so she doesn't gain too much weight.
I'm July 25th, but I didn't let the CNM check me for dilation or anything today becuase it won't make Wombat come any quicker. The hubs was okay with that then changed his mind. Oh well, now we don't know gender or dilation or effacement.
@artbee: that is weird =o) My dr skipped this week, but said hed check again next week. Im measuring a little small, and Peanut is measuring in the 56th percentile (I have weekly ultrasounds too) so shes a little small. I still dont want to go any farther though lol
Not due until Sept, but just wanted to pop in and say good luck ladies! I have been following most of you since you first made your pregnancy announcements here and can't wait to hear about your babies!
@TheFutureMcBride: So many surprises, I don't know how you do it! I'm way too much of a planner to let it all just happen without knowing everything. Are you going to have them check you for dilation next time?
@KellyV: Everybody keeps asking me if I'm ready... and I'm not! I didn't have a fun pregnancy but I know I'll still miss it. Although I'll probably be too busy to miss it that much.
@Tatum: Thanks! Time flies by in the 3rd trimester (as least it did for me) so take it all in. Sept. will be here before you know it!
@artbee: I don't want to be checked until they force me to be checked. It's just part of sticking with the birth plan.
@Tatum: Thanks! I'm so ready to get this Wombat out because I'm really not a patient person.
@Tatum: Thanks! Unlike artbee though, my 3rd tri is D-R-A-G-G-I-N-G. Its going so slowly.
@artbee: lol, we are opposites there. I had a super easy pregnancy and I will NOT miss it. I will miss her moving around in there and reacting to DHs voice, but thats about it. Even though I wasnt sick at all, Im not one of those people that likes being pregnant. I know Im lucky, and I dont take that for granted at all, but to me its almost a nuisance at this point. Im just over it.
Hello Ladies !
Im due July 25 and I am so excited to meet our bean :)
She's dropped and her head is right in place now :) Im not dilated yet, but I went from nothing to 70% effaced in a week, so I'm rewarded with another doc appt this week. I hope Im dilated this appt :)
I had a small scare last week...i got some serious contractions in my back that last about 20 minutes ( contractions were every 2 or 3 minutes) , got into a warm bath and they went away. Scared the crap outta me lol...but part of me was sooo excited
@KellyV: Well luckily for you it's almost over! I think for me a lot of what I'll miss is it just being me and her. Soon she'll be out and I'll have to share her with everyone. Yes, I realized I'm way too attached!
@ForeverYoung: Yay for having another apt! They make me go once a week now no matter what. Which I'm ok with, I want to know what's going on. Hopefully you won't have anymore scares, only the real thing!
Just wanted to say best of luck to all of you! The last month is the hardest but it'll be over before you know it and as soon as your little one is born you forget about it all. :)
@camrie: Thanks. This last month has sucked. Seriously. Im just so tired and so done. It seems like EVERYONE who has had a baby (or whose wives have) nod their heads in understanding like they totally get it when they ask how I am and I say "Im just done." lol. I KNOW its not much time left, but right now 2-3 weeks seems like a damn eternity.
People are always asking me how I feel. It makes me think I should be feeling worse than I do, but I finally realized that it's just different for me b/c my first trimester was full of migraines (had to go to the ER pretty much every other weekend and didn't get off the couch for weeks) so now that those are over all of these 3rd trimester pains and uncomfortableness don't seem so bad.
@artbee: lucky =o) No Im kidding, I get migraines too, so I know the pain there. Like I said, I had an EASY pregnancy up until like 2-3 weeks ago. I have carpal tunnel, she was transverse for so long she started separating my pelvic bones, ALL my weight is in the bump, so its heavy, and -heres the big thing-I miss my identity. I work in finance, mostly male dominated, so Im that woman that knows my shit. I take pride in that, and thats usually what gets talked about at the office and at my client meetings. Since Ive been pregnant, its like nobody can talk about anything except my being pregnant (ans speculation about whether Ill actually come back to work, which I AM doing). I appreciate the sentiment, but I miss being looked at as my old self and not just a pregnant person. Stupid, I know, but that is super frustrating to me
@KellyV: Those last few weeks seem like an eternity and I was convinced I was going to be pregnant forever. You're totally right about the losing your identity - towards the end it seems like you just become "pregnant lady" plus you everything gets more difficult and you just want to be "normal" again.
Can't wait to see the updates from everyone!
@KellyV: I understand, I hate how strangers constantly come up to me and ask me questions. Especially b/c they're usually rude ones, like "are you having twins?" and "You must be due tomorrow, right?" I'm not a social person, and don't like random people talking to me. It never happened before I had this belly! I guess I should get used to it though, I'm sure it'll happen even more when she comes.
i have to agree.. 2-3 weeks seems soooo far away...it really isnt..but I am sooo tired of being pregnant at this point. Im heavy, in pain and uncomfortable. Everything is ready to go and all thats missing is my bean!
Best wishes to everyone! I still have 5 more weeks to go but can't wait to read about all the July babies!
I totally agree with all the stranger comments. The worst is when people can't believe I still have another month to go!
I had my 38 week apt today... and she stripped my membranes? Anybody else do this? She said it may or may not work. I guess we'll see!
@KellyV: I totally agree with you. I'm a software engineering manager so I work in a male dominated field as well, and I'm also the no-bs one with my shit together, so it's disconcerting and awkward that everyone wants to chat about my pregnancy. I totally get where they're coming from -- and I would probably do the same to someone else -- but I'd just like to either get to mat leave or be normal, pretty please.
I'm also not enjoying the "oh!" looks I get from strangers. Again, totally understand, but I feel like all anyone sees anymore is Pregnant Me (which is true - I look like I might tip over... I'd stare too).
The bright side to being an anxious person is that my impatience to be my own human anymore (not just an incubator) is balanced by my "take your time, kiddo!" attitude. I spend the days thinking, "OMG, this could kick off at any moment" and being wigged out by that. Then in the next moment, I can't wait to just get to it already.
Oh, good luck ladies! We're about to have babies coming out quickly! I'm going to keep an eye on this thread. It's SO much easier to see who is "on deck" next. :)
Good luck ladies! I am due in August, but love following all of you guys!
@cheese: I agree, the comments at work are always so interesting, including the ones of "are you sure its not twins".
@cheese: Im so glad someone else gets it. I mean, I would be asking too, but Im going to be a lot more sensitive in the future of what I ask to pregnant women, especially in my field. They are sweet though, Im working from home now until she comes and they email me daily to see how everything is going lol.
@artbee: I didnt have mine stripped, but Im wondering if he'll do it tomorrow (38w 6d, same as you!) Im having a lot of tests run though, so Im thinking not as he wont want to speed up labor without those results. Was it as bad as everyone says it is?
@KellyV: Did you end up having it done? How did your tests go?
I did some researching online and some people said it wasn't painful at all and others said very painful. Unfortunately for me, it was pretty painful. I was just sitting there thinking oh my god, if I can barely handle this how am I going to handle birth! Obviously I'm still here on the bee so there's no baby yet. I did however (TMI) have my bloody show starting yest. morning... so I feel like it can't be long now!
Sooo exciting...you all are so close!! Can't wait to see some new bee babies!
@artbee: No, I didnt dilate any more since my last appt. They did send me over to L&D for a whoooole slew of tests though. I have like 45 symptoms that point to my having pre-eclampsia or something, but I dont have it. They hooked me up to monitors and talked about inducing me yesterday (I freaked out and cried) but decided that they didnt need to. Im just "one of the 1% or so that gets all sorts of crazy symptoms but has no root cause." So yeah. Still waiting on the results of one more blood test, but the hospital seemed pretty certain I =m just weird =o) And after that scare, Ive decided Im not as done as I thought I was. I can wait a liiittle longer lol.
@KellyV: Glad everything turned out ok, that must have been pretty scary! I always worry about that too b/c my feet are crazy swollen and I heard on 16 & pregnant (yes, I know I need a better source!) that can be a sign of pre-eclampsia. But in reality I live in FL and it's crazy hot here so swelling is normal.
I'm 39 weeks today and still no baby! I'm really hoping that she comes before my next apt. Tuesday... I don't want to do the membrane sweep again!
@artbee: Yeah my dr kept saying it was the swelling until he took a closer look and realized how bad it was. Its funny bc on top Im the same size as before. SEriously, from the front I dont look pregnant. But my legs and feet are SO swollen. Even the drs at the hospital were like "wow thats not normal." They were all shocked when the pre-e tests came back negative. They even did a blood test to see if maybe the protein just wasnt showing up in my urine...nope. Ill keep my fingers crossed for you! Im at the point now where Im ok with waiting a bit longer. After that meltdown yesterday and another one today...Ive decided I can wait a few more weeks lol. I say that now. Im sure Ill be eating those words in a few days

How is everyone progressing? I'm not due until July 22nd and my OB said that I'm 50% effaced, not dilated yet. She also said her head is super low. Scary and exciting at the same time!
