I always like to bring something small and inexpensive to hand out to my coworkers. Last year, I just filled cute baggies/tins with puppy chow and gave one to everyone. SO took some to his coworkers as well (which, btw, he hates doing. He would rather not mess with it but feels he has to since everyone else brings stuff. SCROOGE.)
I need cute ideas for this year. Inexpensive and simple is ideal. Has anyone thought of what to get yet?

I had a coworker who was brilliant with inexpensive gift. She took white tree bulbs, painted the hanging part black, two dots for eyes, an orange “v” for a nose and dots for the mouth. I still hang my snowman bulb every year, so adorable. She made bookmarks, coffee cup koozies, candles, earings, mini pumpkin breads, basically cute stuff you can find now on pinterest. I looked forward to her little gifts every year, they were always so personal.

Haha, I just bring in a big platter of homemade cookes for the office to share. I’m not giving 40 people individual gifts. My bosses and one or two other people get cookie tins (filled with cookies, of course) but that’s it.
My last office was much smaller (only about 12 people) so I gave each of them a small bag of cookies. EVERYONE there brought stuff in though–one lady brought everyone candles, another got everyone those small Avon hand lotions, things like that.

I usually buy little things, no more than about $8, the day after Christmas when decorations go on sale. The women in my office are so big on decorating their offices! As for the men, I just bought some great keychain multi-tools for $6 each on amazon. I do have a small office, though, and would probably bake if it were any larger.

We draw names and do a secret santa gift exchange with a $10 spending limit. Last year I got someone a travel coffee mug and a $5 Starbucks gift card (this person was seriously obsessed with coffe).
One year at a previous job I handed out little baggies of small marshmallows with the following poem on a tag:
“Santa looked at his list, he even checked it twice, and he found out you haven’t been very nice. Since coal is so expensive, here is the scoop: Santa filled your stocking with Snowman Poop!”
It was just a silly little thing to leave, but everyone thought it was hilarious…(if you’re in a very formal or stuffy office setting the humor might not be appropriate, but we’re a bunch of lab geeks so it went over quite well).
