I think it was around week 6 or 7 for me (so 4-5 weeks of actually being pregnant!), the first few I didn't feel much, and then it came!
My nausea kicked in right around the 7th or 8th week. I hope you are one of the lucky ones though! If not, the positive thing about it is that it typically stops right around the beginning of your 2nd trimester.
I distinctly remember: 5.5 weeks. I hope none of you that get it have it last as long as mine did. I was 20 weeks before it really started to go away.
@Pelikila: I hope not too! Sorry you had to go through that :).
Mine started just before 6 weeks. It totally came out of nowhere. I'm wishing you a nausea-free pregnancy. Morning sickness sucks.
6-ish weeks for me. Nausea was one of my first symptoms.
@Pelikila: It was the same for me, 20 weeks before I felt "good."
octoberosa - I am sooo jealous!
Im at 5 weeks and 5 days and have been sick EVERY SINGLE DAY.
@JustlikeHeaven: Sorry all you girls were sick like that! It must make starting a joyous day of enjoying pregnancy just a bit harder :). Well here's to hoping I make it through the next two weeks puke free!
Mine literally started before I got my positive test... at 3.5 weeks :( 11 weeks now and still going strong. You will know when you are nauseous, trust me!
Ugh, my nausea started two days after my positive test, just at 4 weeks. Been getting a little worse almost every day (now at 6 weeks). The one day I had no nausea at all I was so panicked that I was going to miscarry that I didn't even enjoy the lack of nausea. Threw up for the first time 2 days ago. Lots of gagging. Enjoy every moment that you aren't feeling it.
I only had it a little bit, weeks 5-8. I only threw up once, but I had this general pukey feeling all day long, which sucked. I would have rather thrown up and been done with it. Also, at times my cramps were so bad those would make nauseated as well. I had a little bit here and there from week 8-10, but nothing that was terrible. I think I have read though that (of course there are exceptions to every rule) that if it hasn't happened by week 8-9, it probably won't. Don't quote me on that, but that's what I've heard.
Mine didn't start until between 8-9 weeks and has pretty much subsided by now (14 weeks). I was really thinking I might not get it at all, but then it hit me. Mine was worse at night and early morning if I didn't eat something right after waking up...I would also get the sick feeling mid-day, but I rarely threw up, mostly gagging and dry heaving. I still get the gags though and they are quite random and aren't always triggered by something.
I found out this morning and my nauseousness started yesterday and I can't shower with out hurling :( I am maybe 3 weeks, that would be my guess at least. Also if I stand on a ladder or stool it makes me dizzy... weird I know.
@JustlikeHeaven:Since when? Since 1 DPO? Since your BFP? I am very curious.
I got my BFP at 3w3d, and got nausea by 5w3d which got much worse at 5w6d and now it's pretty much altered all of my eating habits and makes me hate food and hate needing to eat because it's such a big chore. The only thing that doesn't make me nauseous is gross greasy pizza, caesar salad, spicy chili, and pickles. And popsicles, if those count as food. Even crackers make me feel sick.
My mother says she never got morning sickness. It's different for everyone.@locket:I get this, too. I hate gagging as much as I hate puking.
@octoberosa:Can you add a poll?
ETA, no it's way too late to create a poll on this one, so I made one: Spinoff with poll
mine kicked in at 6 weeks on the dot. you'll know it when it comes. maybe you'll be lucky and not have much m/s at all!
How do you hide it? I dont want to tell people so early on if I can help it. How do you hide your symptoms and puking?? I think when it does happen for me I will be anxious just about having morning sickness that I will make myself sick!
for me, it hit HARD at 7 weeks. 8 weeks was the worst, with absolute constant vomitting and nausea.
by 10 weeks, my morning sickness was completely gone.
Mine started at 5 weeks I believe, very mild though. But this week, I'm in my 6th week, it's been a lot worse :( I haven't thrown up but I feel like if I could, the feeling would go away! I don't like feeling it all day long, it makes me always wonder if I should eat this or that or not eat at all when it's at its worse. I'm hoping I don't vomit because then things will be obvious at my work since I'm never sick...
Six weeks and one day. I remember because it kicked in the day after my dissertation defense.
It got progressively worse until eleven weeks when it almost completely stopped.
Mine came on with avengence at 9 weeks. 10 weeks today and I was put on a prescription yesterday, I think more to stop the vomiting than the nausea. 2 more weeks of this and I hope it's all gone!
Mine is weird. It came when my pregnancy test turned positive, finally! But then I was having a virus at the same time, so I really felt nausea. Now I only kind of get it when my stomach is empty, like in the middle of the night. But I also think it's weird that I also don't feel it now. Mine is just more a queasy feeling. I don't have to puke or anything. However, there was one time in the middle of the night I thought I felt like that for a second. But then again, I've been having a virus too.
i had intense morning/noon and night sickness from about 7 weeks till about 15 weeks and continued with nausea and vomitting but on a lesser scale until about 17 weeks
oops, forgot I already responded to this.
BTW, draminine is the only thing I found that helped alleviate m/s.
@ 6 weeks on the dot until late 3rd tri. I had a HORRENDOUS case of hyperemesis though so that def isn't the norm.
I think mine came one or two weeks after my positive test. Even so, the degree of nausea/vomiting would vary. Somedays I'd throw up 1-3 times a day and some days (like yesterday) not at all. And when it would happen would also vary. Sometimes it'd be in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes in the evening, sometimes a combination of at least two of these. The last bout of it was this morning. Sometimes, I'd just be nauseus but that'd be it.
And believe it or not, I can relate to hating needing to eat. About two or three weeks after the positive test my appetite went down, which has been a cause of concern to FI, especially since it has led to a slight drop in my weight. (And as far as he understands it I should be GAINING weight during pregnancy, not LOSING it.)
My nausea was the reason I took a test. I've been sick ever since (I took it about 3w1d). The doctor put me on Zofran a few weeks ago and it helps me not throw up, but the nausea is still there. I found that having a couple of saltine crackers every half hour or so helps.
So far I'm at 4 wks 5 days and I have nausea that comes and goes. It's been getting stronger though. I thought I was seriously going to hurl at lunch today, but once I ate I felt so much better. And just the thought of certain foods was killing me.

I'm just barely 6 weeks (since my LMP -- but I guess that's what they go by?) and I haven't really felt anything yet. I mean, I feel like I have butterflies in my stomach almost all day, which is a slightly nauseus/anxious feeling, but no puking or really discomfort. I feel very lucky so far, but is it still too early to tell whether I'll be getting it? Hope everyone is feeling good!!
