That I would NEVER get married at a court house or have my reception in a hall.  Unfortunately, we have no choice because of plenty of reasons.  Everything completely fell apart.

“I will find a great dress and never look back!”

–Got dress regret bigtime waiting for mine to come in. But I loved it again once I got it back on.

“I’m not much of a wedding person. I won’t spend hours a day on wedding stuff.”

–I blame WB for breaking this one.

“I won’t be one of those micromanaging brides.”

–Oh my gosh… people… please stop having tacky/expensive/bad ideas.

“I’ll have a lace dress!”

–No, I won’t.

“I would NEVER invite people to the reception and not the ceremony!”

–Things get complicated…

It’s not a big deal, but I always thought I’d have my wedding at a hotel, because I didn’t want anyone to have to drive anywhere.  I never wanted to have it at a banquet hall….and I’m totally having my wedding at a (really super awesome) banquet hall.

I will not get a fancy dress

All lace and beading.

I will do my own hair and makeup

Just had my trial on Saturday and will be doing it on my big day

I will be proactive and get lots done ahead of time

…as I have a pile of projects to finish and only 9 days to finish them in.

“I don’t like roses. They’re for funerals and when boys need to say sorry”

My bouquet and the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets are roses.

“I won’t micromanage”

Well.. I’m not engaged, but I always promised myself to never be one of those crazy girlfriends who are just waiting to be engaged and all obsessed with that stuff…

Here I am.

I present you Myself:

“I don’t really care much about flowers, I’ll just let the florist go with my colors and do something pretty inexpensive.” Turns out once I actually knew about flowers, I fell in love with ranunculus, peonies, and manzanita branches. Oops.

“I would never get dress regret – just buy one you’re sure about the first time, buying two dresses is such a waste of money!” Yeah, had major dress regret and bought a second one, which thankfully I loved and never looked back.

“I hate lace!” Well…you guys have seen my dress. The top of the dress (the second dress, the one I actually wore) is all lace.

I swore I would never spend more than $500 dressing myself for my wedding day. Well, my dress cost $700, my jewelry cost $120, my cloak and petticoat cost $150… yeah lol.

I also always wanted to get married in a “beautiful church” but ended up having my ceremony and reception in the same place… a log cabin lol!
