I love your dress. We're not eloping but having a small courthouse wedding to get our paper going. I'll try posting a picture of my dress
BOO! One of my best friends is more or less "eloping" in the city in which we live... their families won't be there but it'll be a super small gathering of friends. Even though this is all pretty on the fly (I'm talking they got engaged two weeks ago and are getting married early December!), she still wants the white dress, so we're going shopping next week! Totally getting something off the rack, but since she'll still have a ceremony (with my boyfriend officiating!) she wants the white dress for pictures. Totally down with it! I think it's awesome you want to wear your dress, and I say go for it!
I wore this dress: http://www.peterlangner.com/collezioni_abito.aspx?abito=24&foto=2
and a veil. My husband wore a tuxedo :-).
Hey Guys, thanks to those who relplied. It's nice to know I'm not alone in my wearing a dress to elope.
Immigrantbride, thanks for the dress compliment. I look forward to seeing your dress! I was wondering where you are from? I'm from Scotland, marrying an American.
Cheerful, your dress is very pretty, it's unique but, it a good way, I love the wide neckline and sheer back!
KMSull, what kind of dress is your friend seeking? Something courthouse style or more traditional?
Here is the company we are going to use to elope via, check out the pics, they are fantastic!

There is a photo album to the left you can click for more pictures. Just goes to show you can elope but, still have a bit of tradition with the clothing and lovely pictures. I'm so excited!!! :)
Oooo that is a beautiful dress, and I LOVE mantilla veils. I will definitely be wearing one. I think its a great dress choice and its your wedding, you can do whatever you want!
Thank you! :) I purchased a traditional Celtic circlet to try on with the dress, maybe I will wear that instead of the veil. Eloping is great because you can wear what you want, say what you want, go where you want......woooohoooo! No stress! AH JOY!!!!
Hear, Hear! Eloping is the bomb!! Honestly, i don't know why more people don't have their wedding days without the stress. When are you getting married, Leafy?
Hi Cheerful, we plan on eloping to Colorado. Somewhere outside, possibly one of the big parks there with mountains as our backdrop, knee deep in grass- we are huge nature lovers. :) Just the Mr and I, the photographer and the wedding officiant and maybe our dog. :P
I think that you should wear that dress it is GORGEOUS!!

Hi All,
I was hoping that those brides (and grooms) who eloped could post a picture of what they wore, I'm curious. We are excited to be eloping fairly soon, I'm pretty sure I will still wear a long white dress, I actually own a non traditional dress that I planned to wear to our formally not so traditional wedding which has now turned to an elopement. I have attached a picture of my dress which is ivory and I have an ivory mantilla veil. I may purchase another dress though.
:)
