From my uderstanding there is an outer and inner sac & sometimes one can break without the other breaking. (something I found out just recently so I’m not too know’d up on it)

If you aren’t still leaking I wouldn’t worry about it b/c your body will continue to make fluid & you will continue leaking if it did infact break.

As for infection, as long as you are not getting cervical checks after it’s broken you should be just fine! Many natural birth mommas have had their waters break days before going into labor…. just watch for signs of infection & refrain from cervical checks =)

I didn’t…..I went to the hospital and they started me on Pitocin.

That’s really interesting about the 2 different sacs. I had something similar happen to me- I woke up in the middle of the night and had a gush of fluid come out that was tinged with blood. I assumed it was my water that broke but we went to the hospital and the test for amniotic fluid came out negative. I felt so dumb because I couldn’t figure out what else it could have been especially since I was having contractions at that point. While I was waiting on my doctor to come in and decide what the next step was, I got up to go to the bathroom and then had another gush- and then they were like “ok there’s the bag of waters”. So this could be a prelude to your real water breaking.
