I love mezze and would love this at a wedding! Who wouldn't?! This way everyone gets to try a little bit of everything. I'm Russian and we sort of do this as well, (except we do serve a main corse towards the end of the meal but everyone pretty much fills up on the "appetizers"). We did this at our wedding and people are still raving about it to this day.
I say absolutely go for it!
Thanks for your input, guys. And, @Over The Moon. Yum.... Piyaz. Yes. :)

My husband and I are planning our wedding reception. He is Turkish and has a good relationship with a Turkish restaurant that does catering as well. The typical way that Turkish people enjoy eating out is by making a full meal out of appetizers, or mezze. Potential things that would be on the menu are things like shepherd's salad, cacik (like tzatziki), octopus salad, stuffed grape leaves, eggplant salad, etc. etc. We would make sure to have enough variety of things so that there are options for everyone to enjoy.
Its important to note that we would definitely ensure that the "mezze" dishes are enough for people to feel full and satisfied. They would be served at the table, either family style or individually, not as passed hors d'oeuvres.
Thoughts on this style of menu? I know that people say that if guests are attending the wedding and bringing a gift, that they expect to be fed a meal, but we will ensure that people are full.
Thoughts?
