I want to start using it but hesitant. My FSIL does and all the girls in her family and have gorgeous skin! I have uneven skn from kids and kinda big pores. I just want to start a good skin care regiment and use good makeup. I currently use Revlon color stay aqua mineral foundation and Rimmel pressed powder (mineral) and its ugly around about 5 hrs after wearing it. Like gets cakey or uneven. My blush too. Its covergirl. Also, I get some breakouts around the jawline and thats pretty much it. I hate it! I use Aveeno face wash and it doesn't dry me out, same for moisturizer. Just their lotion.

So any ladies who use MK please post a pic and tell me pros and cons!! TIA!

I used to wear it all the time and I break out really easily so MK was great for me.  If something is bothering your skin they will refomulate that product specifically for you and then you can special order it.  Around here for so long it was just so hard to get, with the internet I am sure that makes it easier, but that is why I stopped using it.  Now that I think about it, I should go back to it as it was the best for my skin.  They have a three step hand moisture system that was the BEST and that is the product that I miss the most.

@sooner365: Ok so I use mary kay! The face wash is AMAZING! The first face wash i have ever used that i didnt have any issues with! My face is clearing up and my skintone is getting SO MUCH BETTER! I dont use their foundation right now because Im waiting for my order! But the mineral makeup foundation I LOVE! I picked up some sheer cover while I was waiting for mine to come in and it doesnt even compare. I cant wait for my MK stuff to come in (next time I wont wait soo long to order) But If you are looking into mary kay have a party! You get to try everything yourself AND if you have enough people come and buy you get discounts on yours!

I loved it but it was so $$ for me, but then again, make up is a low priority to me so I rock $5 stuff from the beauty aisle of Walmart.

@tksjewelry: It is called satin hands and it is AMAZING. They have made it in different scents now and unscented. I use it on my feet too!

So its good!! I hate like liquid foundation bc its soooo cakey on me! I had a m/u application done at Estee Lauder and loved it but had to wipe alot off right after she put it on me. Concealer is a MUST for my bags and hereditary dark circles... Thanks Grandpa!

@sooner365: try their under eye concealer, my mom swears by it and has used it as long as I can remember.  Just remember, they will formulate just for you if you don't like something, like it is too heavy.  That is the truely great thing about their way of doing business.  It is one of the very few companies that understands that every persons skin is different.

I am really glad you posted this, I had all but forgotten about MK and have been having the hardest time with makeup lately.  As I am older, my skin is changing alot and I am going to go back and get in touch with a rep. I have been unable to find a counter or drug store makeup that has really worked for my skin now.

@tksjewelry: Thats the main thing I am noticing as I age, my skin is also! Not that I have alot to complain about except the uneven skin tone. Like I have to slather on the makeup around the whole area under my cheekbones down bc its like waay lighter than the rest of my face. So annoying! I have noticed a bit of difference since I have been using the Aveeno radiance wash so thats good. No acne meds in it which I like! But those breakouts suck!!

I am not a fan of their makeup. The foundation breaks me out everytime. They are also very generic with packaging, and it does tell you anything about whats in the formulas.

@sooner365: Depends on your skin.  My mom bought MK make-up and she broke out in hives.

@MsPanda: That is what it's called. I started using it about a month ago and I will not go back to anything else! The Lash Love Mascara is amazing.

@sooner365: I'm not big into makeup since I don't wear it on a regular basis but when I do I wear MK. I have sensitive skin, somewhat big pores, and breakouts. In the past 5 months I have been using MK products and I love them! I first started using their liquid foundation and it's awesome because I finall found a foundation that blends well with my skin tone, it doesn't feel heavy at all (you forget you have it on!), and it lasts for a very long time. It has a nice finish and does not irritate my skin. Another positive note is that you could use a small amount of foundation for every application so one tube will last for a while. Their blushes are really nice since they are mineral base (I use strawberry cream). Also, I love their basic skin regiment which is cleanser and moisturizer. It has helped me reduce my breakouts and it gives my skin a nice healthy glow. Aside from me, my FI uses MK's Satin Lips scrub for his chapped lips and it does wonders for him!

If you are interested in trying their products before purchasing, you can always have a free makeup makeover with a MK consultant.

@msfuturea: Thats my biggest fear is it feeling caked on or getting ugly. You know how foundation like spreads on your face and you can see it? I will definitely havea trial with FSIL before I buy any. I need a good blush brush. With mine now, you can always see a faint line of where the makeup stops and blush starts, like it doesnt blend unless I really blend it with a cotton ball. Not noticeable to others but to me it is. I was thinking of strawberry one or shy.

I use all MK makeup and love it. I use the matte liquid makeup and the mineral powder and it doesn't look cakey at all. Their eye shadows stay on all day. The eye liner is great. I LOVE the lash love mascara.

I also use their moisturizer...love it too!!

    @sooner365:

A good makeup primer before your foundation does help with the wearing off effect.

@sooner365: I use Mary Kay foundation. I have very sensitive skin and the foundation works perfectly for me. :)  Have been using it for years and I love it! I also use their eyeliner, shadows and lip glosses. I love Mary Kay!

I have a mary kay consultant offering to do my makeup for $40 for the day of the wedding- anyone do this kind of thing with a MK person? I'm going to do several trials first with her but all the trials are free =D

@danicalifornia: All I know is to NOT use Mineral makeup they say... because it doesn't photograph well. My photog.even said not to. But if you use the reg.stuff I think you will be ok:)

@danicalifornia:  My aunt does MK and she does day of makeup , makeovers, glamour stuff etc etc. I think it just really depends if you like the way the consultant is put together! If you know what you want even better- they will just use there products on you ;)

@sooner365: I know what you mean and I hate that! When I have used the MK liquid foundation it never caked up and it looked very natural. When my FI and I went to Niagara Falls, I had applied some MK foundation (and MK primer) because my face looked like a wreck. My makeup stayed on the entire day (we went on the Maid of Mist and the Cave of the Winds) and it never caked up or looked messed up either! I was pretty amazed that I even told my MK lady.

Personally, I like the strawberry one for everyday use and the shy blush for evening (it was a bit darker). BTW, why were you recommended not to use mineral makeup on your wedding day? I am interested to know why because mineral makeup seems to work the best on my skin... :/

@msfuturea: Bc it reflects the light he said. I have read that on alot of websites too. Even here. Idk, I am personally going with airbrushed m/u.  So strawberry is good? I iwll have to try that one!

@msfuturea: Like the Mica and stuff in it. I was reading an article in a bridal mag. and saw that. I like it for every day use but I went to bare minerals and had a makeover and asked them. She said to not consider it too.

@sooner365: Thanks for the info, I had no idea about this!!! I have considered airbrush but it all depends on how it looks on my skin. A friend of mine got married in September and she did airbrush and it didn't look all the great on her (maybe it was her skin, idk). I guess I will only know by trying but I still have time before my wedding.

    Yes, try the strawberry! :)
