Mmmm. I don't really think it "goes" with everything else. I mean, perhaps if you did something like "sand dune cookies" or had a beachy title for them. Then I think it'd be great. (:
I think it sounds yummy!!
And I agree with Mrs. Dee - label them something beachy... like maybe only do sugar cookies or oatmeal cookies (You could call them Sea Oats!).
Oooh Sea Oats...I love it! The theme of the wedding actually isn't too beachy. We're trying to stay away from the whole beach theme actually (sand dollars, shells, lighthouses, etc.) as we've been to several weddings where this was done and we don't want something too similar. I love the idea of tying the flavor of the cookies to the beach somehow though because it isn't too in your face.
Thanks!!
Sounds good to me! If you can, get labels with directions that stick to the jar. My old roommate got a thing like that once and lost the tag... we had no idea what to add to the cookies. sad day in our house :)
Favors are never required but most people prefer edibles since those don't collect dust or get tossed. I don't believe they have to match your theme. The cookies sound great. But the copper airplanes will probably be left behind.
You can print out stickers (and get materials from Walmart or any office supply store) and attach to the jar itself with baking directions, etc in case a hangtag were to get detached and lost.

I've been having a tough time with coming up with an idea for favors. We're having a DW on the beach, so we'll have OOT bags for our guests arrival, a flip-flop basket at the reception and little copper airplanes attached to the seating cards that our guests can take with them. (My fiance is a pilot and flying is a big part of our lives.)
I'm not sure that we really need anything else, but I had a thought today of doing cookies in a jar. Ya know, you put all of the ingredients into a mason jar with a cute fabric top and include cooking instructions on a little card tied with ribbon. What does everyone think of that? Stupid? Not practical? Annoying to carry home (99% will be driving)? Or cute and different?
Although it would be a little bit of work, my thought is that because none of the items in the jar are perishable, I could prepare the jars a couple of weeks in advance and get them out of the way.
I appreciate your thoughts...
