I like them a lot, but have wondered if any other bees have decided against them because they’re too “trendy?” A couple years ago I didn’t even know rose gold was an option… Now they’re everywhere, but will they always be? Also, I wear a lot of yellow gold jewelry but do you think yellow gold and rose gold clashes?

I wanted rose gold and white gold but my mom was sooooo against it. SHe swore rose gold isnt timeless and is too trendy. Every time I see a rose gold ring on here I swoon. I love them!

I would not call them trendy… as they aren’t flooding the marketplace like say the current trend for Halos are.
Lol… Precious Metals are TIMELESS & CLASSIC
Anything that is timeless & classic doesn’t CLASH with one another.
Any fashion maven will tell you that (ala Coco Chanel – Jackie O – Edith Head)

I have a rose gold ring. it wasn’t the color I wanted initially, but when I saw it I fell in love. never wondered whether it’d be too trendy. I think if you’re worried that it might be too “now” it may not be the right decision for you since there is a good chance you’ll always have that thought in the back of your mind. you can always get rose gold stacking bands to go with yellow or white gold ering.

I found some rose gold when I was looking up antique rings last week. It’ll come and go in and out of style like any other metal. My wedding band is half rose, and I’m not worried about it.

I had always wanted a rose gold engagement ring, and now I have one! I never really care if things are trendy because if it’s what you like it doesn’t nayterr. But I agree with PP about if you’re worrying about rose gold being trendy it isn’t for you.

well i have ALWAYS wanted a rose gold Ering! But I’m brown, and the color just doesn’t look right with my skintone. Let me tell you though: THIS IS THE ONLY REASON why I will not have one 🙁
if it’s really what you want, go for it!

I LOVE them! LOVE LOVE LOVE! It’s actually what I’m hoping for! 🙂

I was tempted by Rose Gold as it is so beautiful and actually very romantic looking which suits wedding sets well, however I worried about a few things:
1) I would go off it after a while.
2) It may not get taken seriously.
3) People might think my ring was fake/costume jewellery.
So I went with yellow gold which has always been my favourite and I’m glad I did.

@RoseEcho211: I’m getting one! I fell in love with rose gold last year and now the majority of my jewelry is rose gold. Some people might consider it trendy but honestly so could white gold since that is what the majority of people buy. If YOU love it then you should get what you want. You can always upgrade later if you decide you dont want it. On a final note, there are ALWAYS going to be ring trends. Rose Gold was big in the 20’s, yellow gold was big in the 80’s, and now white gold, platinum, and rose gold are “in.” Just get what you fall in love with!

@RoseEcho211: I think they’re beautiful. If you wear a lot of gold-toned jewelry, I think it is a GREAT choice. I don’t think they’re too trendy, I think they’re just coming back to gold a little bit. I think it is more timeless than people give it credit for.

@RoseEcho211: Look at people that got married in the 80’s and 90’s—- gold rings.
Look at people that got married late 90’s and 2000’s— platinum and white gold.
Perhaps the 2015-2035 years will be filled with rose gold, then it cycles back around to gold?
It’s all trendy and there is really a limit to how “timeless” something can be. Fashion is ALL ABOUT small changes to the same few cycles (and jewelry is fashion).

@RoseEcho211: my ring is rose gold and I love it. Rose gold has been used for hundreds of years, so I definitely don’t think it can me considered trendy!

I don’t think that rose gold is too “trendy”. Way back when my parents were first dating, he lost a game of poker and had to buy my mom anything she wanted in a jewelry store. She chose a tri-gold ring, yellow gold, white gold and rose gold.
Rose gold has been around forever, like PPs have said I think we just cycle through different gold tones, none of them ever really going out of style.
I think that any precious metal is beautiful and you can’t go wrong with any of them!

@RoseEcho211: I don’t think rose and yellow gold clash, I like the look of mixed metals. But I did decide against rose gold for an engagement ring because of the same fear you have. I love rose gold things now (especially all the rose gold/morganite rings so pretty!), but I don’t know how I’ll feel about it 5, 10 years from now. Whereas I have loved silver/white gold/yellow gold for as long as I can remember.
