I’m obviously a little early to be thinking dresses, but the SECOND i saw this a lightbulb went off in my head that said ‘dancing dress!’
i’m going to wear my hair in a sleek, tall bun so it would read (i think) glammed up ballerina 🙂
i’d nix the bits sticking out, and the part hanging down and have it made either in ivory (not sold on that idea) or pale blush pink.

@peonyinlove: If ballerina style is what you are going for, that is a good choice.
I am honestly not a fan at all ad don’t see much in it that I like personally (it’s poofy and doesn’t really give off a mature woman vibe), BUT if it is what YOU like, that is all that matters…as long as you are comfortable.

@peonyinlove: I think it’s BEAUTIFUL! And my unsolicited opinion? I didn’t do a reception dress…but I think that they should be less “bridal” than your bridal gown. I’m no fashion expert, but that’s always been my thought. If it looks like a bridal gown, why change in the first place? Anyway, my point is, I would totally go for the pale blush pink rather than ivory so it stands out. 🙂 It’s so gorgeous!

I love it. I say go for it

I don’t like the dress in general, and if you are wearing your hair in a ballerina type bun it could look very costumey.

I fear that it will come across as a costume.

I think it looks like ballerina recital outfit. I’m usually one for non-traditional but this doesn’t cut it for me.

@peonyinlove: Maybe if it was white…and the skirt toned down a little, like taking a layer of tulle out. It could look very high-fashion.

@LaceyBride1123: it’s hilarious you don’t think it looks high fashion as it’s valentino haute couture spring 2014! 🙂

@megz06: yeah i’m not really going for a ‘mature woman’ vibe – i’ll be 26 and i want a fun, dancing dress! who knows if this is it or not, but i think with the right shoes and jewelry it would be fun 🙂
@Tess63110: i totally agree – i want something that will be very different than my actual gown. with a tan, sweet shoes and proper makeup (this model looks like a corpse!) i think it would be totally different!
@julies1949: @pixiecat: @BellaDee: if i choose to go with it, that’s something i’d have to work against for sure – i think with great heels, a tan and proper makeup it would be much more appropriate. anyways, it was just an idea!
@MrsGarrityToBe: thanks! we’ll see what happens – it’s early days yet!

@peonyinlove: I’m glad you found my comment so hilarious. Clearly the photo you posted was from a fashion show. What I meant was that if you tailored the dress it could look very high-fasion on you as your wedding reception dress. Sorry if I was not clear. Good luck planning.

To me, it’s one of those dresses that I would look back on in 10 years and say “what was I thinking?”
But you’re the only one that has to love it!

@LaceyBride1123: oh sorry, didn’t mean to offend you – i clearly misunderstood your comment.

@peonyinlove: It’s super cute! It looks like it would be a fun dress to wear.

I like the overall design! I’d personally want it a little longer… But that’s the nature of haute coture!
