My fiance and I are leaning toward this photographer. http://www.whitneystanek.com/#/home/
She has a package that is within our budget that includes up to 8 hours with a second photographer, album, engagement shoot, DVD of all edited images with rights, online gallery of proofs, and a preview within 2 weeks. We also met with her and hit it off, and I like the style of her photos.
I am not great at discerning the “quality” of a photographer. Any thoughts are much appreciated!

This is my kind of photography! I like the photojournalistic and creative egde to photography. Make sure to have a list of *must* pictures. I had to make sure we got the traditional, standing still pictures, but the other ones are all creative and emotion filled.
I hope this helps!

@lauraminn: “We also met with her and hit it off, and I like the style of her photos. ” This is what matters most, and I think should be your biggest consideration in hiring someone. She doesn’t look like she has a ton of wedding experience, but her style looks good and her website is one of the more put together I’ve seen of the links brides have been posting asking for photographer advice.
Also an experienced wedding photographer doesn’t need a “must have” list.

I vote yes! If you like her style, she is in your budget, and you “clicked” in your meeting, go for it!

@lauraminn: I like it – photojournalistic and natural. Good combination of posed pictures and non-posed.

Thanks, everyone! I agree, and we hope to move forward soon and book her. Just waiting for some references.
