You ever open a thread and the OP has one post, and then another person is conversing with everyone else and kind of takes over the thread.

I'm that person. I do that a lot.  I feel badly about it. So if it ever annoys you, just be like "beekiss2, this is not your thread, so back off."

I'd rather see someone do that than see a thread ignored or only have one lonely reply.

@Loribeth: Yeah, that makes me sad :-(. I like to see threads with multiple responses.

I agree, I'd much rather have lots of responses than none at all!

Thanks everyone, I guess I'll keep doing what I've been doing as long as I stay on topic (I know it bothers a lot of the hostesses when threads go off topic) Wink

I don't think it bothers Hostesses when threads go off topic.  I think it only tends to become bothersome when threads stray to the negative and snarky side.  But, like real conversations in life, sometimes discussions to get off topic.

Yeah, sometimes a semi-related aside is unavoidable.

Ie, a post about short engagement brings up a Friday wedding as a way to get a great venue on short notice, and somebody will ask the poster a follow up question about guests not being able to attend.  Not that I just did that on another thread...

It's just the natural flow of a conversation

Ditto Loribeth. If i've started the thread I quite like it when two other people have a conversation between themselves as at least my thread has served some purpose, it's better than having no comments. I also like getting into conversation with bees on threads, it's nice - it's better than being a thread killer hey crebre80?! LOL!

Yeah I agree I much rather see a post go on than end abruptly.
