EEE!!! I am so excited, we finally picked up my finished ring on saturday. It’s an antique rose gold belcher setting from 1910. It needed a fair amount of repair work because the gold was old and brittle. Some of you may remember how upset I was after the first jeweller we had work on the ring chipped the diamond. We ended up purchasing another stone. 1/3 ct, GIA J IF excellent cut, symmetry and polish. I love it, I love the warmth of the diamond in the rose gold, and I love the way it feels on my finger, and I love the man that gave it to me! I’m not a very showy person, but I am excited. This board will keep me from texting a photo to everyone is my contact list.
Advice needed. Ring saga sadness
This board was so lovely and supportive when I was questioning what to do regarding the chipped stone. I think I will wind up setting it in a bezel setting on a necklace.
Photos! Please ignore the fact that we appear to wearing the same sweater. We were at home in our comfy clothes, apparently we dressed like twins and rushed to the jewelers when they called to say it was finished without realizing. Looking at the photo, I see that it looks like I have one feminine hand and then one larger more masculine hand.
This little guy sparkles like crazy! These photos aren’t great, taken at dusk with an iphone camera. This is an in progress shot our jeweler took. If any Vancouver bees want custom work done I would wholeheartedly recommend LL Private Jewellers(different people than the jeweller that chipped the first diamond)!

@franklyn: The ring is beautiful!! Can I ask if you were able to sell the chipped diamond? My stone is chipped (but you can’t REALLY see it – the jeweler who made my ering did a pretty good job of hiding the chip under a prong) and we were told that the stone is worthless 🙁 My grandmother left me the diamond so I’m a little torn about the idea of selling it anyway, but I was just curious if you were able to sell a chipped diamond.
Love your finished ring!!

@franklyn: holy crap that is beautiful! I think we need a picture of the side to really appreciate the delicate prongs!
And how perfectly adorable that you and your Fiance were dressed alike! Every time I try to leave the house even closely resembling my Fiance, he marches back in to change his sweater, LOL.
