Oh No!! I was without mine for a week and that was horrible enough (especially because I felt like I'd lost them and freaked out a few times before I remembered they were in the "shop"). That stinks, however I don't blame you for wanting them fixed correctly so it doesn't have to go in for repair again any time soon.
I haven't been without my rings since I got them, but it was at least 6 weeks between when we got engaged, found my ring, and it was ready. It was so agonizing! I also used to wear two other rings every day and when they went in to be resized I felt so naked for the entire week.
I just dropped off my engagement ring at the jeweler's yesterday. They need to carve a wax model of it to ensure the wedding band they're making will fit properly, but I'll be without it until Friday or Saturday. It's only Wednesday and I miss it already. My finger feels so naked!
I'm trying to reduce my feelings of separation anxiety by reminding myself that my e-ring will soon have a friend to cuddle up with! :)
this makes me SO glad my grandfather is a jeweler, and (when I'm at home) he lived only 10 minutes away! The longest I went without is 3 days.
I dropped mine off the other day to be resized.. they have to send it to tacori, so they told me it would take a month to 6 weeks!
I felt naked so I bought a cheap fake ring.. FI makes fun of me.. but I just couldn't handle it. I also figured the cheap fake ring could also work as a stand in when I don't want to chance wearing my real ring somewhere.
I was without my ring for a month after our engagement.
Oh no! The jewelers broke my engagement ring while re-sizing and soldering. I had to go without my ring the first time for a week and a half and the second time only four days. Totally sucks.
Oh goodness, I'd feel SO naked. I have to take my ring off to work in the darkroom ( I tend to avoid using tongs and just jam my hands into the developer and fix), in the printmaking studio (hello, evil acid!), and while painting (no thanks, mineral spirits and oils!). I feel naked just doing those things!
I had to take my ring in for appraisal and resizing 3 weeks after I got engaged and I missed it sooo much and felt very naked!
However, they told me it would be 5 whole business days and I got it back in 3 - so heres to hoping you get it back early!
Oh boy do I feel your pain!! I just got engaged in March, but a trip to the jeweler about getting a wedding band made, turned into a 'ring inspection', if you will. The prongs and setting ended up being pretty iffy (we didn't get the ering from this jeweler), so my ering has been 'in the shop' for the past few weeks while the setting gets a facelift. I SHOULD get it this week, but we'll see. I really like our new jeweler so I don't want to be belligerent :) It just feels like it's been forever! Agonizing indeed!
I didn't have mine for about a week and half and I was so sad :(
Especially when my mom visited and we were doing wedding stuff I was like this IS NOT right!
But my FH and I bought me a cheap-o ring that was sorta similar to my real one...it was only like 40 but kept ppl from asking questions and made me think I still looked engaged ;)
Ugh, how awful. Three weeks? I didn't wear my ring the week we moved (lots of heavy stuff to move around and bang into!), and I constantly panicked thinking I lost it. We're buying a "stunt double" for the wedding band for these occasions, but not until closer to or after the wedding... so I have to deal with it occasionally for the next six months. :-/

I took my rings in to get them soldered together, and due to the jeweler being super busy, it's taken a week or so (which is fine - they're doing it free so I won't be picky).
But today I talked to them and they said they noticed a bunch of stress fractures on my e-ring! Ick! They wanted to know if they should repair 'em, or if I'd mind them sending it back to the manufacturer of the setting (since they've never seen something like this happen before). I want it fixed right so I asked which they recommend: they said "send it back". So I'll probably end up with it being entirely re-cast. And it'll be gone for TWO more WEEKS!
Have you been without your ring(s) for an extended period? It's agonizing, right?
