This looks lovely. Why would you think it violated etiquette?
If it's an age thing, I still think that dress is totally fine! It's very sophisticated and elegant, but fun and youthful at the same time. You can't go wrong with it!
Thank god! I see nothing wrong with selecting the dress you love. I've been a bit puzzled/miffed by brides thinking that they are limited to gowns that fall into the "mature" category. Whatever! I love your dress and I'm sure you'll knock it out of the park. 
That being said, I was looking at Mother-Of-The-Bride/Groom dresses and quite frankly, I believe that my bridesmaids would look better in some of them than in traditional bridesmaids dresses. Three out of four are busty and two are full figured, and one of them could wear anything and be comfortable in it.
You should totally wear what you want on your wedding day! Who says just because you're not in your 20s you can't be sexy on your wedding day?!? GO FOR IT! :)
Thanks so much for the pep talk! Part of my issue is my best friend (moh) who keeps telling me "that dress is for a young girl", or "that would be perfect for a first wedding"...so needless to say, I'm not feeling the love but you all helped to change that! Thanks!!!!

And btw show her mine too tell her I am a 43 year old encore bride and she can just deal - there is no age appropriate when you are talking gowns!!!
I'm glad you chose the gown you love!! Everyone will always have an opinion as to what you should wear, but only you know what's right for you! It's beautiful and for sure your FI will be blown away when he sees you in it :)
Nice choice! You can rock any dress you want to, there is no law that says any bride over age 39 has to wear a pant suit at her wedding!

AT 42... mine is the same basic shape, and white. I thought the same thing for a few moments... then said who cares! It's a gorgeous dress you chose! Very tasteful, classy, and fun all rolled into one :)
