Does he drink beer? You could serve his favorite beer also, along with the margaritas. Maybe queso/salsa bowls with corn chips because they're less greasy. I would also have sodas/water available just in case they want something different

@piglet_625: Oh, there will be beer! I was thinking about getting some galvanized buckets to fill with ice and beer - regular domestic and Corona? I plan on having sodas and tea, etc. (plus we always have bottled water) if anyone wants to stay sober.
I love the idea of chips and queso! DH loves queso.
So menu wise, I am thinking....
Fajita bar - chicken and steak, black beans, rice, cheese, salsa, sour cream, lettuce, etc.
Chips with Queso and homeade salsa
Any other suggestions?
Maybe little appetizer finger foods? Meatballs with toothpicks, etc? Is he a scotch drinker? FI's only drink is a double scotch, neat. To me, nothing screams "man time" like a stiff drink in a glass.
@MrsCarnival: Hmm, I like the meatball idea! No, DH doesn't drink scotch, he's more of a beer guy. Scotch and cigars does sound super manly though! :-) It makes me think of Ron Burgundy on Anchorman. "I love Scotch, scotchy, scotch, scotch!"
@Lindsay12.31.2010: Hahaha! FI drinks so rarely that I was shocked when we found out he liked scotch. I think so few people drink it in a glass without ice or anything else that we always have to explain it really well to the bartender :)

My DH turns 26 in 6 days, and for his birthday, I am throwing him a casino night party. I work for an event rental company, so I am renting a texas hold'em table, and a blackjack table. I plan on decorating, having the guys come over, and then leaving for a girls night.
I need some other ideas for decorations and food. Nothing over the top, but what would you serve? I plan on borrowing a frozen drink machine and making margaritas, but beyond that, I am lost.
I was told by a friend nothing greasy since they are playing cards, so I was thinking of doing like a taco/fajita bar? DH likes cigars, so I figure between the margaritas, cigars, and Mexican food, that might be the theme.
Any ideas?
