Hi Bees –
Not sure if anyone has even done this, or heard of this before but I am considering throwing my fiance his bachelor party.
Now when I say I am throwing it, I mean I am funding it, and that’s it. Won’t do much of the planning, and won’t dictate what is done because I don’t care as long as he has fun.
My fiance moved from Cleveland to Upstate New York with me about 6 months ago. The groomsmen that are his friends are not local, and the groomsmen that are family of mine one is, the rest are in NYC. Honestly – his best friend/best man is unreliable, so not even sure if he will be the best man (he is in Cleveland). My FI does have his backup best man which is his friend from Atlanta.
Basically the people that should be throwing this shindig don’t live around us. So with that said, I don’t think they would throw him a bachelor party and I really want him to have one. My best male friend is in the wedding and I asked him if I funded it, can he plan a bachelor party for my FI. He said absolutely. I told him just make it in July, let me know the figures, and I will pay for it.
Thoughts, opinions? Do think this is a good idea? Or am I overstepping my boundaries. I just always like to keep a smile on his face…

I would run it by the best man and the “2nd” best friend before planning everything, but I think it is a very thoughful idea! And if you really don’t think he is going to have one otherwise, I would go for it!

@Sea_Ashley: You’re right. The 2nd best man (who I have a feeling will end up being the best man) is like a little brother to me. So I will chop it up with him first.

Honestly I think that’s just really sweet of you ^^
But yeah, maybe see how the other men feel? There’s a slim chance they already had some idea in the works (either together or one individually), or could just do with knowing 🙂

I think it’s TOTALLY fine! Lol, from the title, I was worried you wanted to be there and micro-manage it!! I think your FI is lucky to have you.

I think that’s great 🙂
I honestly thought of doing the same thing for my FI (was thinking of sending him and his buddies on a fishing trip), until I had lunch with one of our best friends recently who indicated to me that he wanted to organize a camping trip deal for him.

I think this is really nice of you, but I could see it backfiring… It just depends on your guy. I think some guys wouldnt like knowing that their fiancée is the one “throwing” the party. If you think your guy wouldn’t mind, then go for it! Either way, it is very thoughtful of you!
