As we leave the ceremony, we’re going to have people throw something.. rose petals/pom poms/paper airplanes.. and I keep thinking maybe we should do the cranes. I can’t find any pictures of people throwing them.. but they’re supposed to be good luck.
Good idea or bad idea?
You can have them made in almost any color on etsy..

@thefuturemrsrowe: I’ve never thrown a paper crane before, but I have the feeling that they might not be very, um, aerodynamic. They might only go a foot or two- not sure. Also, if you have time for a simple DIY, it’s very easy to make them, and cheap too. You just need to buy origami paper, and though it may seem complicated when you fold your first few cranes, you’ll get the hang of it really quickly. I think they would look really nice strung up in garlands, either a bunch of them hanging down in a cascade, or individually, like a crane bunting!

I’m using paper cranes as decorations, so I threw a few to see how they would fly, and they don’t really. I would find something else.

Sounds like a good idea in theory, but might look awkward in reality.
Plus all that work in makng them to have them tossed on the ground!

Hmm… despite being a bird, origami cranes aren’t very aerodynamic. And a little pointy…
