Are you talking about the bridal sets as in for jewelry? If you are there is a entire shopping center in Atlanta that sells the Indian clothing, jewelery and different things. I can't remember the name or locations right off hand because we went to like 4 or 5 different stores that day.
But I just did a search because I remember one of the places we went to was close to Patel Brothers Grocery Store. That one was called Kum Kum Sari Center, it didn't have a great selection as the other ones we went to but if I can get the name of it for you, then I will let you know.
My friend entire bridal set I believe was about $25 definitely less than $50.
Just did a bit more searching and I figured out where my friend bought her wedding outfit from in Atlanta. She got it all from Ladlee, they are located in the Global Mall.
LADLEE SAREES AND DRESSES
5675 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Atlanta, GA 30071 (770) 798-9707
The Global Mall is just all Indian Stores. To get to Ladlee when you are inside the mall, go up the esclator because that is where all the shopping is located. Good luck!
@vttp926: Thanks so much ! I went to one place of N. Druid Hills and I am headed to the global Mall !
No problem. I so want to go back to the Global Mall just to look. Everything looks really great there and I was so mesmerized by all the colors.
I wore a tikka and mehndi with my wedding gown! My husband is Indian so I felt like it would be a good blend of both cultures to wear the Indian jewelry and mehndi with my Western wedding gown. I bought my jewelry set online from sonoor.com. They're a little expensive but but many of their sets are wearable for other occasions. Like the one I got is a really simple gold and pink set that I can definitely wear for another dress up occassion. If you like I can send you the link to my photographers blog if you want to see the dress and jewelry looked together!
@MeelaBeela: Hi Meela,
My fiance is Indian and I am African American and we are getting married in Jacksonville in October.Do you know where we can get some indian inspired or nice colorful decorations in jacksonville?
BY THE WAY I am trying to decide (WHITE OR YELLOW gold) wearing indian jewelry with my white dress given by my mother in law.I cant decide which would be most appropriate. My wedding rings are white gold. What do you think?
My colors are red, orange, lime, yellow and white.
Sorry to jump in on the Convo :-(
Hi kguti!
Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the Jacksonville area. Most of what we used for our wedding came from online or were rentals from our venues. I did get some nice Moroccan laterns from Pier One and some brightly colored vases for our tables from Homegoods.
I wore yellow gold Indian jewelry with my wedding dress but my dress was light gold and ivory. I think the yellow gold would be nice against a white dress too though especially if the set has some kind of stones in it and isn't just solid yellow gold. wedding rings were also white gold like yours but I figured no one would really notice anyway.
This wedding really inspired me as I was trying to figure out my wedding day look. Maybe you can get some ideas from this too:

Hi! I would like some advice from you!
my bf's family is Indian and I'm thinking I would like to incorporate Indian culture and design into western(although I'm east asian) style. I was thinking maybe I could wear a white gown and accesorize with Indian jewelry such as tikka and bangles, but I was afraid it would look stupid or offensive... but obviously you have done it? how did it turn out? I checked out that link you posted and was very impressed! however, I'm not sure if I could nail it like that...
Hi GramGeek!
Sorry for the delayed response! The bride in that link did such a fantastic job coordinating EVERYTHING in her bridal outfit. I definitely was not able to pull my look together perfectly like that but I think I did a pretty good job. I'm at work right now but I will post a picture tonight of how my finished East/West look came together.
Ok here is one of my wedding pictures. I think the Indian jewelry looks really pretty with the American style wedding gown.
@pfunkserrette:hi any pics from the wedding I am dying to see :-) I am having my fusion wedding in October :-0 My MIL and mom are helping me and althought I am wearing a white wedding dress we are doing a fusion ceremony and a bollywood style reception.I am so excited!
Does anyonr know how many bangles you typically wear on each arm for a bride? I think it is 10 each arm.Anyone know for sure? I got a set of 50 bangles as a gift from my MIL :-)

Hi Ladies, I am an African-American bride getting married on 10/10/10 in NE fla, I live in Atlanta. Although I am not indian I have found a lot of inspiration on multi-cultural wedding sites, boards and blogs, and find indian bridal wear to be sooooo beautiful. I would like to wear a tikka or indian bridal set and to have mendhi. Is it offensive to you to have someone not of your culture borrow your customs ? I am so NOT a white princess ball gown/tiara/fairy princess type girl, but I don't want to be offensive, or look crazy. Please advise.
Does anyone know where I could rent a tikka or bridal set or find an inexpensive version in Atlanta or Jacksonville ?
Can anyone elaborate on the symbolism or significance of the bridal set, mendhi or tikka ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated- I will post pics after the wedding to see if you approve ! : )
