Use the time to organize for the next day- take note of any meetings, things that will need to be done, organzie files you will need etc.  That way when you come in in the morning things will go super smoothly.

Learn something!

Download a reader and follow newsites or blogs related to your work. Sign up for tutorials on how to do things in various programs. Listen to webcasts.

Do anything to further your knowledge and career. See if you can get them to pay for an online course for computers you can take at your own pace. Or even a language.

I have the same problem at my job.  I use the time to file stuff, organize the supply cabinet, organize my drawers, and if I’m really desperate for work to do, I ask my coworkers if they have any stuff they need help with.
