A lot of what was special at my wedding were the details. So I'll start with those.
First we'll go through old, new, borrowed, and blue.

Old- My mom found this ring in my grandmother's jewelry chest after she passed away. I was able to read the inscription on it when she gave it to me on my wedding day. It had my great-grandmother's and great-grandfather's initials as well as their wedding date of 6-7-10 as in 1910. I wore it on my right middle finger next to my e-ring for the ceremony:

New - My wedding jewelry from Adriana Orsini at Saks and my amazing and oh so worth the price shoes:

Blue - Monogram & wedding date sewn inside my dress. It was a gift from one of our guests:

Now on to some other details.
Our rings and ring box. A family friend made both our rings and gave us the ring box as a gift:

DH's tie and cufflinks. He gave each of his groomsmen a tie as well. They are Japanese silk ties from a company that used to make kimonos:

The bouquets & boutonnieres - I picked all the dahlia colors for both the bridesmaids and my bouquet. The boutonnieres were designed by my florist based off the color scheme we picked:

The amazing floral arrangements - We had arrangements by both our caterer and our florist. The florist arrangements are the all flower ones. The caterer arrangements are the ones with veggies as well as flowers.

Our escort cards and table names - Table names were all islands off the coast of Maine. So we hung our escort cards on netting laid over nautical maps of the Maine coast.

And our guest book made with our engagement photos:

Our cake - it was a family recipe used by MIL at all birthdays. She had to teach the catering staff how to make the icing correctly. It was SO delicious and I loved how beautifully it turned out:

So that is installment 1, I will post others as I get through my wedding photos. But I can tell you this, one will be dedicated to food alone, it was so good and so beautiful!

@SpecialSundae: Not at all! Please take the idea. It's nice because it's a book we will actually keep out in our new place and can look at from time to time for the photos as well as the notes.

@mole: Thank you, my photographer was amazing.

The shoes are Oscar de la Renta. I think they were from 2002 or something like that. They were the display pair at Sak's bridal salon and happened to be my size. I've never seen them anywhere else or been able to find them online. Hence why I think they are from a much older collection.

I love them and cannot wait to wear them again.

@BayStateBride: It was very cool. And that sort of arrangement is just something that our caterer does at all her events. Any table she's using to serve food, she provides arrangements for and usually pairs colorful fruits and veggies with flowers of similar colors.

I saw her once do an arrangement with those purple and white striped eggplants in the vase and purple and white striped dahlias for flowers. Totally stunning.

@sarahbabs: Go right ahead! I'm so glad that the details from my wedding can inspire others. I'm totally happy to share. Also if there's something else specific you want to see, let me know. I have over 800 photos so I was just picking some of the very best ones.

These are gorgeous (and I am so not a detail person).  But the veggie bouquets are awesome!  I love how so much of this has meaning for you.

Your hair came out so pretty! I know I was like "Are you suuuuuuuuuure" after your 90 second trial but she did a great job.

The bouquets are to die for

@Entangled: It was so nice to have so many meaningful touches.

@LGenz: Hehe thanks! I'm so glad my hair came out well. It was the only thing i was a bit nervous about on the day of, but she did a fantastic job not only on my hair but all the bridesmaids and my mom as well.

I love your idea of including engagement shots into your guestbook, and the veggie arrangements are so neat!

I also love your "something old" - heartwarming.
