I live on the East Coast in PA. We're having the wedding 7-17 and I'm not sure what time of day it should be!

The ceremony is outside (possible shade) and will be less than 20 minutes. The reception has A/C, but will also have some doors open. I doubt it will be cold.

I was thinking later afternoon because it may be a little cooler?Any tips would be very helpful!

I'm having a beach wedding in NJ on the 24th and the light is really harsh on the East Coast in July so we're doing a 5:30 cocktail hour, a 6:30 ceremony and reception until 10:30 - 11pm.

NJ is pretty close to me... I'm glad you thought about the lighting! We're not going to be close to any water but i can see how that would be a problem.

It will be hot no matter what time you decide, unless you want to do it in the evening when the sun goes down (which since it is outside I'm thinking you really don't want to do that). There may be a couple of degrees difference between the early and late afternoon, but you won't really feel it.

I'm actually getting married the same day, just a little farther south! I've just accepted that it will be hot because it is July. If I wanted a comfy outside temperature I would get married in April or May.

DATE TWIN! Are you getting married outside? I guess you have a point about it being hot all afternoon. I can only hope it will be as cool as it was this past summer (where it felt like it was late-may in July!).

The only outside I'm going to be doing is for pictures. I'm trying very hard to not think too much about the weather. I keep telling myself I can't control it, even if my dad is a meterologist!
