I took off 3 days and HIGHLY recommend it.  I was only going to take 2 days and that never would have been enough time to get everything done.

I should note that we had to do A LOT of setting up for our own wedding which was very time consuming.

I can only take two days off beforehand.  I wish I could do three, but not much I can do about it.  I’m trying not to worry about it ๐Ÿ™‚  We’ll see how it works out.

I took off the full week before, and it was good.  I had a couple of crazy weeks at work, culminating in a huge festival two weeks before the wedding, which meant that I wasn’t getting a lot of last-month wedding prep done.  I needed the whole week–it gave me time to get everything printed, relax a little bit, and get some sleep.  (That week we did programs, favors, gifts, table numbers, etc.  None of them had really been started before then.)

I think you’ll end up using as much time as you give yourself.

By the time my wedding rolls around I’ll be unemployed getting ready for my big move to the US.

If he were moving here, I’d be able to keep my business & take a week off before the wedding… sigh. The things we do for love.

This is the one time I’m grateful i’m a student.  I’m taking a week off for thanksgiving (a month before our wedding) and I finish classes the Monday before the wedding.  Since we’re getting married 400 miles away, this gives me time to coordinate everything and every body.

I’m taking a week off before and after.  I don’t get paid vacation time or anything so I’m trying to save diligently to make up for it.  However, I want to relax a couple of days before family starts coming in and then be able to spend time with them.  I won’t be able to concentrate at work anyway.  However, I will have EVERYTHING done by a month before the wedding, I swear it, lol!  That way, no wedding chores or DIY that week, except for the license.

I took off three days before the wedding.  It was so nice to actually relax and not have to worry about work.  I took the week after for our honeymoon so a total of eight days off.

My schedule is horribly tight so I have the day before, day of (that was a struggle in itself!) and the day after.  If my scheduler likes me, maybe one day after that.  Yikes!!

I’m taking the week before off, since we aren’t going on our honeymoon for several months after. My MOH, a friend, FMIL, and FI are all taking the week off, as well. Yay for awesome helpers! ๐Ÿ™‚

I get married on Saturday….headed upstate on a train Wednesday night.  I’m already going to pushing my time off with the honeymoon, so two days is all I get.

I’m taking the 3 days before and the Mon. and Tues. after. Most of our guests are out of town and I want to be able to say hello (plus my Dad, Bro and Sis are staying with us). We’re not taking a honeymoon right away, so 5 days (not including the weekend) will have to do. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m in school and am set for a Monday-Wednesday class schedule, so that would give me two days off before my Saturday wedding… but I’m almost definitely skipping Wednesday, as well. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If I were working and had to use vacation time, I’d probably only miss Thursday-Friday (and wish I could take off the whole week).

I plan to take a week off before. My sister took a week before hers and seemed helpful. She did a lot of DIY projects and we wrapped a lot of them up in the last week when all the family started rolling in.
