My favorite ressurections are the ones where someone helps the person choose between dresses for a wedding that happened in like, 2007. :)

I get why people do it. The little "Related Topics" box gets me all of the time. I've finally learned to look at the date of the OP before responding.
Haha. Yes! I'll admit I roll my eyes a little when I see a years-old thread revived and new threads get overlooked because of it. I usually think "How did they even find that??"
Eh, I just figure they are really giving the advice to the rest of us that aren't married yet. Good advice is timeless I suppose.
I always laugh at that too!
One time when I was relatively new to WB, I saw someone had revived a 2 year old thread that was debating between two BM dresses. I jokingly replied to the "reviver" that I doubted the bride (who's wedding was over a year prior) was trying to pick a BM dress anymore. I then got chastized by other Bees because "the thread could still be helpful to other posters". Who are debating between the exact same two dresses two years later? I don't think so .....
And for some funny animals pictures about being revived ...

There are newbees that do not understand the date stamps. Maybe they have done a search, on the searches, it is always the old threads that come up. Maybe one of you would like to write a FYI post and I will ask to have it stickied into "weddingbee".
@tksjewelry: yeah I think that's usually what happens.....but it's still funny sometimes. another reason I wish you could sort search results and get them in date order!
Haha, love it. I got an inbox message right after one of my old posts popped up. It was pretty serious but I had to laugh because the advice was way off and we were already married.
@hisgoosiegirl: I would love that. There is a suggestion in the "ideas" section. I would love for you all to vote for that, it would make the boards alot more organized and make sure the information is current. I do have to say that I have found some great how to blogs from old old posts when I am bored.
Lol, sometimes I get excited and think "wow, I've got some great advice here" then I see the time stamp. "Oh, 2 years ago nevermind :/"

Yeah, tons of the older threads are still a great resource to look through, I just wish they didn't get bumped so often when someone doesn't realize to check the dates.
Go forth and vote, ye bees!

Lol, I find myself reviving old ring threads LOL!! My bad!
This thread is hilarious!
LOL this thread is hilarious. I agree. It drives me nuts!!
It is pretty funny, or cute really. Such earnest advice usually! But it irks me when someone posts a new thread, and then someone replies "There was a thread about this awhile ago..." all snotty (at least in my head!). Older threads are fun to read through too, but I don't see any harm in starting a new one, rather than reviving a dead one!
@NowDontLetsBeSilly: Definitely, especially when some of the older ones have 7 pages or something. Times change, people change, new bees arrive...may as well start a thread that's more current if the last one was more than a few months ago!
@KristenGotMarried: Lol'd at my desk! Thank you for that!
It's so weird. I always wonder how in the world they found the darn thing!
LMAO.
<<<victim. I have definitely answered some old ass threads not realizing how old it really was. I wish when you logged into the boards they would just filter by the date they were started OR the popularity. Too funny...all the cat pictures...lmao
Haha. I just saw an old revived thread on the main page, and sure enough, their wedding date was several months ago but people were still sharing their opinions. Haha. I'm sure the people who posted on it didn't realize how old it was, because I'm sure not everyone pays attention to when things were posted but it'd sure be nice if they did :D
It happens. I think it's a funny blast from the past sometimes especially when I'm like "awww I remember when that bee had that problem" haha.
I feel like this thread needs a bump today. Just as a reminder ;) Hehe.
oh my gosh, yes! It usually makes me crack up, and I have to restrain myself from commenting to point that out to the thread-reviver. (although sometimes not successful...)

Anyone else get a little chuckle out of it when someone revives a super old thread to give advice to an OP whose wedding date was years ago?
