We met with the pastor tonight at we can either have a 1 PM or 3 PM service. Our cocktail hour starts at 5 with dinner around 6 or 6:30.

If we have the wedding at 1 it takes approximately 30-35 minutes. Once we mingle and get everyone back onto church for photos, the BP will leave to take photos elsewhere. Leaving church at 2:30, our hall is about 35 minutes away from the church. Stopping someplace for at least 40 minutes to an hour and stopping at the hotel for people to unload their belongings gets us to the hall around 5:30-6:00.

Do you think 3 PM is too late? We worry because the 1 PM timeline works for us, but is it bad for our guests?

I think 3 pm would be best. With a 1 pm wedding, as a guest I would not want to wait around for several hours for everyone to get done taking pictures. I think the timeline you have for the 1 pm ceremony can be changed up a little so that you still get the pictures you want but don't inconvenience your guests. Go with 3 pm.

I agree w/ Mrs.Dee... the less wait time for your guests, the better it is.

If you go with the 3pm ceremony you could still go off and take pictures, just make sure you have drinks or appetizers for your guests at the hall! I think 3pm would work better because its close to dinner time anyway :)
