    Hi Hive!

I just posted a few comments on other brides posts about having time for certain things...and it got me really thinking how much time I don't have myself...

I'm feeling 'down to the wire' now...more or less..for certain things.

Some things I have done already:

    • put deposit for venue
    • photographer
    • ordered my dress (last night)
    • BM dresses
    • cake topper
    • working on s-t-d's ...
    • got e-pics done
    • have some special made beaded flowers to add to my bouquet and for my BM's...
    • Set up wedding website
    • Rings! :) FH got to pick his up a couple weeks ago and I picked mine up from being size at the jewelers last night! SO excited!
    • Officiant

Still need to get totally or finalize:

    • caterer is through venue and started with it, but still have to finalize it all
    • pay for my venue in full (though I know that won't be able to be until I know how many people will be attending).
    • Need all bridal accessories - veil, shoes, jewelry...
    • do invitations...
    • put together guest book and 'signature mat' for reception
    • book florist (which I just will need for bouquets)
    • finalize centerpiece idea and order them!
    • see if I can afford 'photobooth' from someone I know...
    • favors
    • set up tux rental for future hubby and groomsmen
    • Legal paperwork - marriage license, etc.
    • dress altered
    • figure out what to do about hair and makeup

    There's probably more...but so far..that's where I stand..

boy oh boy...the joys and stress of wedding planning! :)

you have plenty of time! your list is totally manageable -- prioritize and delegate as much as you can!

@smiles1979 - We're in the same boat - date twins!  It sounds like you've got everything started and pretty much know what you need to do.  The one thing I've tried to do is get the time sensitive things out of the way, ie: wedding dress, vendors, etc.  Basically anything that's going to take a while to get in or needs to be booked so your date will be available.  Now I get to focus on all the little details... whoohoo.  They say it's the little details that will drive you crazy, but I say bring it on!  :)  Six more months and we'll never have to do it again!  Good luck to you!

I cannot stress how amazing weddingwire.com is. You plug in your wedding date and it gives you exactly what tasks need to be done during each specific month. It's awesome.

oh god this is so funny cause at first i was like, did i post this!? lol im getting married on April 30, too!!

I ordered my STDs this morning! You have to get that done, because with holidays coming up you dont want them to get "lost" in the onslaught of holiday mail!

Im going to tell you straight out, you have WAY more to do than what you listed (if you are going the traditional route, i guess)...Ill tell you what helped me, theres this APP, if you have an iPhone, Bride Guide - DOWNLOAD IT! It outliens everything you need to do! You would never imagine how many tiny things there are, and if you know about it ahead of time, you can probably tackle alot of those little things early on so they dont stress you out later, at least thats my plan haha.

What I can suggest is - get everything you need to "book" - booked ASAP. I have a friend that waited too long and couldnt get ANYTHING she wanted.

    GOOD LUCK!! :) :)

    Thanks all..:)

I should have my s-t-d's done by tomorrow and ready to mail out. :) I'm figuring that if I do that...it'll be fine as it's still before the holidays.

Then I plan to have my invites out to my guests at the beginning of Feb. and this should give me enough time to get all the info. in to the hotel, etc. for my Apr. 30th wedding! :)

Pluggin' along with the rest of the stuff....

my wedding is april 16th I have pretty much the exact same list as you! except for invitations I have already got. And my veil. Other than that my "to do" list is everything on your to do list. And everyday I am always like ugh I feel like I need to have so much more done!!

    Thanks for the support..;)

It seems like I'm never going to complete my list....but slowly but surely some of my plans are coming along nicely. :)

Just have to plug at it a little more each week. :)

If you are at all doing the invites yourself, then I suggest you start now! Those always take more time/effort/sweat than you think.

Oh MY!! you just reminded me I have no photographer!!! Thanks, BTW you look like you have lots more done than I do.  Mine is a vow renewal (15th anniversary) but we are doing everything(just like a first time wedding).  This is sooo much work!

@red pepper gal: Thanks for the advice. Yes, I know that it can take longer than expected...as I made my own s.t.d.'s too.  I'm working on it. ;)

@1Shappyears: Congrats on your 15 yr. renewal! Oh goodness..yes, I'd say it's much work, esp. if you're putting as much into this renewal as you did your first time wedding! Good luck! :)
