    Hey guys,

I just took my dress in for the first fitting. It needs to be taken in prob about 2 inches all over. (She pinned it all around, so I'm just guessing at the total amt of inches). She's also adding boning and a two tier french bustle. Is the following "safe" timeline?

My wedding is Dec 12th. She only scheduled a final fitting for Dec 3rd, with the official pick up Dec 9th (i.e. no fitting between now and December). She said that she would have enough time in that 6 days to take it in more if need be and to steam/press it.

    Does this seem right?

Not sure b/c I haven't had my fittings yet, but I think this sounds right.  My bridal salon was adament that I schedule my last fitting for as late as possible since many brides tend to lose some weight right before the wedding due to stress.  If you have your final fitting too early, then you might end up with a dress that doesn't fit right on the big day.  This is extra important for strapless dresses, since I for one don't want my dress falling down.  Yikes!

That is right.  I had my final fitting about a week from the wedding to make sure that everything was done.  The bustle wasn't completed so we had her put in the rest of the buttons for it and it was all done for when we picked it up about a week later.

That seems right to me, but if you are uncomfortable with the time frame, then change it to what makes you most comfortable.

I would want to have one in the middle-- what if the alterations they make now end up not fitting you, and you don't find out till December?  Eek!  That would feel like too much of a rush.

Eek. I would ask for an alteration appointment in between just to ease my mind. No reason to have another thing to stress about. Good luck!
