What about choosing a fun bar or spot nearby and spread the word that after your reception everyone will be gathering there to continue the fun??

I am having a late afternoon ceremony and would love to then go to the reception and party til we drop...but the reception venue won't let us stay much later than 9:30-and because we are going to be starting about 4:30 it might even be 8:30. I feel like this is a big bummer-I mean what do we do after?
I would love to push the ceremony start time later but 3 is the latest, but I figure with a little cushion time and then taking photos right after the ceremony (which my small party of 30 will be asked to stay for) we can get to the reception place at 4:30 unless I find another thing to occupy everyone in between.
Here's my proposed timeline:
So what do you think of this timeline:
3-ceremony
3:30 venue cleans up and we take pictures (with and without guests)
4:15 head to reception (only 2 miles away)
4:30 hors d'oevres and drinks
5 dinner
5:30 cake cutting and serving
6 dancing starts-dancing, mingling, drinks
8:30 departure
I hate this-I would much rather people just left as they felt tired and anyone who wanted to keep on drinking, mingling and dancing could.
Advice anyone?
