I’m hoping to get feedback on my current schedule for my reception. Any thoughts are appreciated! We’ll have around 120 people, my cateter said give about 1 hour for everyone to eat at the buffet. Ceremony and reception are at the same location. Everyone is very flexible if things run long, go short, but this is my “plan”.
5:00-5:15- Ceremony (yes, it’s short)
5:15-6:00- photos. Bar and apps will be available for guests
6:00- Grand Entrannce, first dance
6:30- I welcome everyone, announce buffet is open.
during dinner, bridesmaids get to make their speeches
7:30- Father/daughter dance
8:00- Champagne toast- done by dad
cut cake right after
8:30- bouquet toss

I noticed a few things:
–Will you do a receiving line after the ceremony?
–Usually the FOB makes his toast first at the beginning of the event to welcome everyone. As the bride, you are the guest of honor and typically wouldn’t be making announcements. Do you have a band or dj?
–Do you have a best man? When is his toast?
–Will your groom be dancing with his mom?
–When you make your grand entrance, will guests have been asked to be seated for dinner? If so, you have a long wait until the buffet opens (30 mins).

I noticed you only left 45min for pictures! My photographer suggested an hour and half for the photo session (so we are doing some before and after the ceremony)
Other than that looks like fun!

45 minutes for photos isn’t really a lot of time, are you doing some of the pictures before the ceremony?
Since you are making the welcome speech & all your bridesmaids are making a speech, it sounds like you aren’t going the traditional speech route (we aren’t either.) I LOVE IT when the Bride & groom speak at their wedding– after all, it’s your day!
Actually, I would prefer to hear the Bride say a speech than someone I don’t know or have a connection too. I’m totally going to say something to my guests & my groom, lol I’m not the type of gal to let a microphone pass me by.
I think it sounds like a great timeline– I hope you have a wonderful day 🙂
