Weddingbee boards

Sorry so long.....BTW, SO and I are 30 yrs old, neither been married, my first long term relationship.

So my SO and I have our 1 yr anniversary this week, and the past month or so he's been acting a little strange.....mentioning finances more all of a sudden, being very mushy/romantic (not his personality).

I bought a diamond candle and he told me if I got the $5000 ring we'll call it our engagement ring. That was the first time he's mentioned engagement.  Last night, there was a wedding reception in the back room of his favorite restaurant/bar, and we were there with friends. He said in front of everyone, "hey MsYankee, can we have our wedding reception here?" he was joking, it's way too small for our families, but it was cute. 

Later, we were at a friend's house and a guy friend asked the birthday girl if she was married ( she is, guy asking was meeting her for 1st time). She asked my SO why he would ask that ( my guy friend) and my SO said because he's probably thinking of proposing to his gf. My friend and I thought SO's response was odd, we both thought my guy friend was hitting on her jokingly!!

Later last night my SO were talking and he said he wants me to be his last girlfriend, he loves me like he never has with anyone before, and admitted that he's been thinking of engagement. We had a talk about moving in together, etc, SO lives with his parents and wants to wait to move out when he can buy a house, I told him I'm not buying a house with him until we're at least engaged and he said he wants to pay off his remaining debt(4500) and then it will be time for us.

This was our first real conversation about engagement/timeline in a serious way so I'm super excited we're on the same page and he was the one to bring it up.  He took a looong time to say I love you (11 months) but since then he's been all about our future, and like I said, acting super mushy and open about his feelings ( which he normally is not).

Just wanted to share because I don't want to tell too many real life friends about the conversation yet and my best friend is going through a bad relationship situation and doesn't want to hear about all this mushy stuff all the time. But I wanted to share :o)

@love108:  No, haven't had a chance to get it looked at yet because SO and I want to go together (in case it is worth 500+ - how exciting!) and he got called into work all weekend.  I'll let the Bee know when I find out!

@love108:  well finally went to get the ring checked out - turns out it's fake! Fooled us all...but it's still really pretty!
