- Wedding: June 2012
Hello fellow bees!
I need some advice from you regarding timing of my ceremony and reception. My ceremony is unfortunately late in the evening – from 7-7:30p. This was the only time allowed at the ceremony site. Our reception is a half hour away at my parents’ home. We decided to have a cocktail reception because of the late ceremony. We’ll serve appetizers, drinks and desserts.
My concern is that our wedding photographer would like us to stay until 9pm to get the best lighting for pictures outside (sunset). Our wedding day is June 29th. We will have group shots before then and individual shots after that. of course, we want the best pictures, but our reception starts at 8pm. Do you think it would be rude for guests if we didn’t show up until 9:30 for first dance, etc? They’ll be eating and drinking until then, so I’m wondering if they would even notice?
Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!
