So I really want to have another baby (our son turns 3 end of September). I just graduated from Teachers college in June and I already got on the board in my area as a substitute. I really want to get pregnant in October so the baby is due for the summer. My husband is in the military and he could get paternity leave from September to Christmas and my son starts full day kindergarten next year so we would only have to pay for daycare for one. Plus I can breastfeed to save money and we already have a lot of baby stuff left from my son (like a crib and some clothing etc)
Can you tell I have been thinking about this a lot lol! My husband wants to wait a few more years (we do have to start paying off my school debt plus the car that we bought last year). I really don’t want to have 6 or 7 years between my two kids (if we get pregnant this year it will already be 4 years by next year). Honestly, I don’t know if I want a second child 4 or 5 years down the road when I will be right into my career and the large number of years between the two kids.
So Bees, is my husband right – is it extremely bad timing. I just dont want to wait 3 more years and start again with diapers and have to get everything new. It’s so hard because I see his points about money ( I really really do) – but it is not as if we have to start from scratch either. Especially with our military lifestyle, I want my son to have a sibling when we move around so they have each other. I am really proud of myself for getting a job right out of university in my field and I feel like with budgeting this is possible.
So Bees, am I crazy – would having our second baby now be too difficult?
