Are there online options though for gift cards? Like cards that you could use online and have things shipped to you?
Shipping is so pointless - to ship overseas (at least from Canada) would probably cost more than the gift itself :(
anyone??... what kinds of small items did you get for your shower/wedding or put on your registry that might work in this situation?
things that are flat and can go in a suitcase:

another idea - register for nice luggage!
snmcdowell thanks for all those great ideas! I feel so stupid about not thinking about asking for luggage! That's a really great idea :)
I think you could probably figure it out. I am registering for luggage and I'm excited about it!

So as I've mentioned several times in the hive, we live in Korea and thus cannot take a large number of gifts back to Seoul after our Canadian wedding. I think at this point, most of our guests realize that if they wish to gift us, money is the only option. However, my great aunt called my mum the other day, and she wants to throw me a shower. I think at a shower most people are going to want to bring gifts not money, but we still have the cost to send/space to bring back in our luggage problems to deal with. I was thinking about suggesting a 'suitcase' shower ie. collectively, the shower gifts have to fit in one suitcase. The problem is, I'm not sure what kind of gifts to suggest to people. Does anyone have any suggestions? Here are the limitations we are dealing with:
-small, light weight, not-bulky
-nothing electric (voltage and plugs are different)
-not bedsheets (beds sizes are different)
-not fragile/able to get through customs easily
-gift cards are not an option - we have different stores!
